Fun Vintage Halloween Christmas Tree

Today I am sharing our fun Halloween Tree. I do not normally decorate for Halloween per say. Thru out the years I will add a little touch of it here and there but never anything large scale. Not that I do not find plenty of cute Halloween decorations. I do! The problem is that with Halloween decor Christmas decor always comes out in stores as well and honestly Christmas decorations win out every time!!:) I have though grabbed a few things here and there over time. I went thru it all and decided that I had enough to create a fun Halloween Tree.

I have a few slender trees that I leave up all year because it is just easier than taking them down and dragging them upstairs of the garage. We have one up in our dining room which I decorated with fall which if you missed it you can click here and view our dining room fall tour. Then there is this one by our breakfast nook/living room.

Farmhouse Cottage Fall Fireplace Mantel

The windows are open and a cool breeze is blowing so I thought that it was the perfect time to share our fall fireplace for this year. It actually started out as something totally different but I ended up redoing it because I didn't want to haul back up to the garage some of the decor. LOL.

I kept it fairly simple. Just placed the leaf wreath along with some of my favorite flameless candles and stacked pumpkins that I chalk painted.

Farmhouse Cottage Style Fall Dining Room

Welcome to our fall dining room for this year! I am really loving how it turned out. The only thing I purchased new for this year were the supplies to make the fall tree. Everything else was acquired thru the years. There are those who can go out and purchase all new but I like the challenge of creating something new with what I already have...most of the time. LOL.

Of course the star of the show is the reproduction bread makers cabinet. This is the first fall with it. We purchased it locally right after Thanksgiving last year.

Farmhouse Cottage Style Fall Foyer

Fall temperatures are arriving this upcoming week and I could not be more than ready! I am glad that I have all of our fall decor out. It will add to the coziness of the season. Today I will be sharing our fall foyer. I added a little bit of whimsy to it this year.

A DIY Fall Tree Tutorial

Have you seen those gorgeous fall trees online from various companies? They have been around for years. I have always admired them but have never wanted to pay the price for one. Just one tree can cost anywhere from $70-$175 depending on where you purchase it from.

This year I decided to make my own fall tree for a fraction of the cost! I actually made three trees for less than $85!

First you will need to purchase a bundle of birch sticks or whatever they are called. I found them at Hobby Lobby in the Christmas decor under the bows. They come in a bundle of 3. I paid $14 for the bundle because they were half off at the time. You need to wait for the sales because that is what makes the trees so affordable!

Breakfast Nook Fall Cabinet Vignettes

We spent last Sunday working out in the garage. I had multiple boxes of home decor that was still boxed up from our move...almost three years ago. In all honesty most of the boxes were filled with dinnerware that I had packed extra well so there was not all that much in each box. Neighbors walked by asking if we were getting ready for a yard sale. LOL. Nope just unpacking from the move. :)

Fall 2019 Mantel

I do not know about you  but I am already thinking about Christmas decorating. Yesterday I went and picked up a few things to get started. I wanted to make sure to get what I already knew I was needing before things started getting picked over. That will happen in the next few weeks at least around here. My men have made me promise not to start decking the halls till After Halloween but I am not so sure I will be able to wait that long.LOL.
Before my holiday insanity takes over I thought it would be a great time to share our fall mantel for this year.

Fall Porch 2019

Happy First day of October! This year has been flying by. It is still in the low 90's here and doesn't feel much like fall but we are suppose to cool down over the up coming weekend. Low 80's during the day with low to mid 60's at night which will be a much welcomed change!

To celebrate the first day of October I thought I would share with y'all our fall porch. It involved a lot of DIY from painting the pumpkin stacks to making the wreaths.

French Farmhouse Style Fall Dining Room 2017

Welcome everyone! I am excited to share with y'all our first fall dining room here at the new house.

Last year we were in the middle of moving in thus there was no time for fall decorating. To be honest I had not planned to decorate the dining this year either since I waited so late. I was already planning Christmas but while I was working on the fall front porch some of the items I didn't use ended up collecting in the dining room. One thing led to another during my night owl hours and with just a few simple items I was able to transform the space fairly quickly.

Simple Fall Dining Room- A Look Back

I am currently working on fall in the dining room here at the new house. I hope to have it completed to share for next week. I am missing a few items I need out of storage though. Till then I thought that I would share our fall dining room from a few years back. I have to say our previous dining room will always be a favorite of mine!

Fall Touches on the Porch with Balsam Hill

Edited Note: I planned on having a few new posts to share but we are dealing with Hurricane Harvey right now. So far all is well. In the meantime I have fall on the brain and have been dreaming up plans for our front porch. Last year we were still in our rental for fall decorating so I can not wait told decorate the porch here at the new house!

Fall is technically upon us now though it certainly does not feel like it. I have been wanting to decorate/nest like you would not believe! Fall and the holidays are my most favorite time of year and it was killing me to know that all of my fall decor is in storage. You can imagine my delight when my friend Courtney from French Country Cottage asked me to participate in a fall blog hop. Wait, all my fall is in storage...

Happy Friday everyone! I wanted to pop in and apologize that Treasure Hunt Thursday was not up. I fell behind and needed a break but I promise it will be back next Wednesday evening! In the meantime I thought that I would share with you all a sneak peek at what I have been up to.

Revisiting Fall & Exciting News

Today is September 1st. In our home that means two things. We wish my hubby Mr. Front Porch a very Happy Birthday and I start thinking about fall! Fall is one of my most favorite times of year and I always go all out. Today I thought that I would take a walk down memory lane and share some past fall decor with you.

The last of it!

I do not know about you but I am in full holiday mode now! I have been listening to the cable Christmas music channel every morning after I drop the boys off at school. Last weekend I did the annual moving of the furniture in the living room to accommodate a tree. I also started taking down all the fall that has been up since September!
Here is the last of it that I forgot to share with you! That is the angel that goes with our nativity set. I keep her out all year to watch over us. She has seen us thru many occasions to even include Hurricane Gustav!

I love how the sun shines thru the top of the door! I wish I had a plug up there so that I could do lights and not  have a hanging cord down the side like at Christmas. That drives me insane but I do it anyways!;)

So this is what it looks like at our house right now. The boys are all excited and we have even put up their tree in their bedroom already!

Most of all the holiday decor rests here in our master. Even though I would love to get going on it it will have to what till after Thanksgiving.

Have you started decorating yet?

Hope y'all are having a fabulous week!

Fall Mantel-An All Day Affair

Yep, The Fall Fairy decided to finally make a stop at our house! Let me tell you it was an all day affair! I was arranging things and thinking how I needed a few more things so I started digging thru all my stuff and forgot I had not one but two bins full of fall goodness in the pretty closet. Yes, I said pretty closet! We have his and hers closets and well mine is full of what my boys call my pretties!;) Some gals go for shoes I go for decor.

My fall mantel display was created pretty much with stuff I already had. This cute Autumn sign I got last year at HomeGoods.

I used the architectural piece bookends I purchased last month from HomeGoods to flank the wreath.

The wreath is the only new piece! I just could not pass it up when I saw it at yes, HomeGoods on Thursday! It hopped in my cart and refused to get out. I paid $40 for it and tried to reason myself out of it since I usually make my own wreaths but I was adding up what all was in the wreath and by the time I purchased all the garlands and picks I would have been pretty darn near that $40 in the first place even with it all on sale.

I needed some taller items on either side of the mirror so I pulled the topiaries down from the front door ledge and just stuck some fall leaves and a pumpkin in them. The shutters I just finished painting and were a gift from my mom. She got them at an estate sale. I have another set out in the garage that I am thinking of painting and selling.

And here is what took all day! I did it layer by layer and would get frustrated so I would walk away and come back to it. I am not one that can just throw stuff together in a flash. It always takes me some time to achieve the look I am going for.

Down on the hearth I pulled out my twigs I have had for years from Target and my candle sconce from a store called Illuminations that sadly closed up shop. It was divine! The only light in the entire store was by candles!

For the lantern I just threw some picks on top with raffia ribbon.

I am pretty pleased with how it turned out. This is the first year to decorate for the seasons with the new fireplace surround and flooring! And yes that is blue painters tape you are seeing! I am still working on caulking and repainting the baseboards!;)

The Fall Fairy is not done and has left a few messes along the way. The dining room is still in progress as well as the landing and as soon as I get the trim painted behind the tv cabinet I need to decorate the top of it so there will be plenty of fall yumminess yet to come!

Speaking of yumminess!! You MUST go out and get these tart warmers from WM! They are beyond yummy and our entire house smells delicious!
Hope your weekend is going well and thanx for stopping by!

A Bit More Fall

I have been working on this to share with y'all but it is taking quite a bit longer seeing as I am a fly by the seat of my pants can't read a pattern to save my life kinda gal. I knew exactly how I wanted it to look so it has taken some ingenious sewing on my part to achieve the look but I think I have arrived at a final process and hope to be able to share the final result by the end of the week. Till then I thought I would share some more of my fall lovelies with y'all. Enjoy!:)

I am pretty much keeping it simple this year.

More simplicity.

These sit on the ledge into the kitchen. All I did was add a candle ring to the bottom of the lamp to add instant fall charm.

This is the top of our t.v. armoire. I usually keep it shut when not in use but since I added the cute autumn sign I have been able to scale back on my OCD issues and leave it open.

This is our landing on the way to upstairs. Sorry the lighting is so terrible! Again if I would just read the directions for my camera which I have owned a year almost I could probably figure out how to solve this lighting dilemma but I digress.

This is one of my fave spots to decorate and the only place that I am adding true Halloween decor. I am not big on official Halloween but for my boys I needed to add a few touches. I think I need some spider webs and a spider or two and maybe an owl to sit on the lantern.

Until then this will have to do. The boys love it!

Before I go look  what I won!! I am sooo truly excited! I won this beautiful sign last week from Paula over at Castle and Cottage! I have two spots in mind for it but need to finish up a few things before I decide. Thanx again Paula for such a wonderful give away! Head on over to her blog! She has an Etsy shop full of lovelies! And on another WhooHoo Stephanie Lynn over at Under The Table And Dreaming featured my fall mantel post! So exciting! Thanx Stephanie Lynn!

P.s. Joining in on the fun over at Cottage & Vine for Falling Up! Come on over and join in if ya can! Also joining in on Fall Open House over at Hooked On Houses!
