Chalk Painted Pumpkins

I decided to srart on my fall decorating. This years decor is a lot of DIY. I made three new wreaths for the porch which I will share in an upcoming post. I also did a LOT of painting.

Those that have been following along for many years may remember back in 2014 when I decided to chalk paint some cheap pumpkins. I did a tutorial for everyone. It was before chalk painting pumpkins was the "in thing" to do. Fast forward 5 years later and I have been busy chalk painting pumpkins like nobody's business.

I purchased three of these polyresin pumpkins from TJ Maxx the other week.  They were just $5 a piece. I loved the color and thought they would be perfect but once I got them home they were too turquoise. I remembered that I had the perfect blue/gray chalk paint from many many moons ago that I savedonly for special projects.

I had to add a little water to the paint since it had been years since I had opened it but it worked like a charm and came out the exact color I was needing.

This pumpkin stack I purchased last year along with it's twin from TJMaxx. They were a steal at only $29 each. I have not been able to find pumpkin stacks this year for less than $70. These are made of polyresin as well. Though I liked the color they were too green for my decor. The plan was to transform them last year. I never got around to it and up in the attic they went.

The saying goes better late than never! I love how they turned out. When you pull into our section they jump out at ya from our porch. I have already had one neighbor friend tell me how much it made her smile today seeing them on her way home.

Here is one more pumpkin I painted. I forgot to take a before pic. It was a similar turquoise color as the three smaller pumpkins. I found this one at HomeGoods last year. Made from polyresin as well. It was $25 I think. When I was at HomeGoods a few weeks back I actually saw that they have similar ones again this year for around the same amount.

I have our porch almost completed. I just need to tweak it a little and then I will share.
