I do not know about you but I am already thinking about Christmas decorating. Yesterday I went and picked up a few things to get started. I wanted to make sure to get what I already knew I was needing before things started getting picked over. That will happen in the next few weeks at least around here. My men have made me promise not to start decking the halls till After Halloween but I am not so sure I will be able to wait that long.LOL.
Before my holiday insanity takes over I thought it would be a great time to share our fall mantel for this year.
I kept things fairly simple and did not purchase anything new except for... |
this adorable owl that I found last week. I found him at Walmart while look thru all of the Christmas isles. He hopped right in my cart. |
I love these little lanterns. I purchased them last December from a local store called The Round Top Collection. |
I love how cozy this space feels. I wish I could find my many fairy lights to add to the leaf garlands but such is life. So am I the only crazy lady thinking about starting on decking the halls in a few weeks? Love your mantel. I decorated mine today and will share tomorrow. Nope, not even beginning to think of Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI will be sure to stop by and visit Penny! Thank you for your kind words.
DeleteIf you're crazy, I guess I am too, lol! Before I blogged I always decorated the weekend after Thanksgiving, but since we share much of our decor with readers, it seems necessary to begin earlier. Your mantel is lovely--thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm!
ReplyDeleteBirds of a feather flock together! LOL. I have always been an early decorator. I worked in visual merchandising for many many years so I guess that is partly to blame.
DeleteI've found myself wanting to start Christmas, at least a little, in early November. there just isn't enough time to enjoy it otherwise. Love that wonderful pastoral scene above your lovely Fall mantel.and oh yes, that owl is absolutely adorable!
ReplyDeleteThank you Debra! Yes, I agree. There just is not enough time to enjoy it if not.
DeleteYour mantle is beautiful and I must admit, I'm a little jealous. I haven't had a house with a mantle for six years and I miss it so much! I told my husband it's a requirement for the next house. Thank you for sharing at Party in Your PJ's, you are being featured tomorrow night on my blog!
ReplyDeletePamela this is a beautiful area in your home. Your fall touches are pretty. The artwork over the fireplace caught my eye right away. The arches next to it finish it nicely.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your week
