Decking The Halls

I hope that everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving! We staid at home and enjoyed a quiet day. Not really much different from our normal Thanksgiving to be honest. I know that for some of you this year may have looked completely different but I hope that everyone found some joy in the day. 

With Thanksgiving behind us it is time for decking the halls. I started a few weeks ago and have been dragging my feet to finish. 

I am determined to finish most of it today though!

Farmhouse Cottage Style Fall Dining Room

Welcome to our fall dining room for this year! I am really loving how it turned out. The only thing I purchased new for this year were the supplies to make the fall tree. Everything else was acquired thru the years. There are those who can go out and purchase all new but I like the challenge of creating something new with what I already have...most of the time. LOL.

Of course the star of the show is the reproduction bread makers cabinet. This is the first fall with it. We purchased it locally right after Thanksgiving last year.

Dreaming of a French Farmhouse Bread Makers Cupboard

 Do you have that one piece of furniture that you have been dreaming about? My dream started goodness probably 8 or so years ago after seeing a rustic vintage style hutch that was for sale at an antique shop in PA called Lucketts. I believe Miss. Mustardseed had posted a pic of it on her blog at the time. She use to have a space there. Anyways, it was a dreamy piece to say the least and I was never able to find anything like it online or locally.

We are a week and half out from November! That means it is time to start sorting thru all the Christmas bins and deciding which trees will go where. No worries though, I have not forgotten fall. I actually have had our dining room all cozied up for fall for over a month now but I didn't want to take pictures till I had the new curtains made and hung.

It is a gorgeous day here in SE Texas! We could not have asked for a better one. Worked out in the yard and now we have a few errands to run. I am almost done with the Fall Dining Room blog post. I will be finishing it up this evening. Till then here is a sneak peek!

New Home Lighting Options

A friend from my old hood recently purchased a new home. It is a gorgeous home that the builder used as their model. The current lighting though beautiful was too frufru for them and she was looking for lighting that would make their new house feel like them, feel like their home and not a model home. I was more than happy to help out.
