A few weeks back I showed y'all this beautiful mirror I got off the local yard sale site. Though lovely in its original state thoughts kept running thru my mind on what it could become. |
In came my Annie Sloan Chalk Paint sample pots I had left from back in the fall. Sorry gals but I hear these are hard to find now. |
I started off with Old White as the base coat and then added Old Ochre. I decided it needed some aging so I used some antiquing medium I purchased at HobLob. Well it was too dark so I had to go back and add Old White again.
About four long hours later this is the final finish! |
I had been contimplating how to lighten the dining room up. It just felt really dark to me so last night around 11 pm instead of going to bed like a normal person I transformed the buffet. |
I love the faint design on the white plates and the more dominate on the green. A perfect combination I think. |
Now to decide what to do with my vacation treasures! The only shop I got to visit was Old Time Pottery and that place is HUGE and reminds me of Garden Ridge that we have around here but with a bit nicer items. There were tables and tables of fab down the center of the store. The Nana found the cream floral fabric and another one that I should have bought as well but such is life. At the last one I found the beautiful blue Waverly fabric. I am thinking curtains for the landing or maybe if I am brave enough a slip cover for in the living room. Oh how I wish I were lucky enough to have a neighbor like Sonya over at Beyond The Screen Door. ReplyDeleteI just ordered my first can of chalk paint today. I have an ugly armoire to tackle. We are neighbors on Wow Us Wednesday. I hope you stop in to see our new kitchen.
ReplyDeleteThe mirror looks fabulous but the fabric is my favorite. There is nothing better than a Waverly floral. Thanks for visiting my blog and your nice comment. Have a great rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteI like how you displayed the plated in the wooden Thyme box. I'm adding that to my Pinterest.

The mirror looks fabulous over the buffet in your dining room. Love the new vignette. I think it really lights up the room. Love the rooster lamp, he looks very much at home there. Oh, I like the chandy. Love the new plates too. Wow, love the fabric. Great post

The mirror turned out fabulous, Pamela! When I was using the chalk paint this weekend, I was wishing they had sample pots. I'd like to try some of the other colors on the color chart they sent along, but not buy a whole quart. The buffet looks great ~ I love your rooster lamp. Love the dishes, too. Your green ones remind me of the new white ones I just got from Walmart with the detail and curves.
ReplyDeleteYour mirror turned out great and I just love the lighter look in the dining room. I'm in the process of doing the same thing. It's amazing how a couple of changes can brighten up an entire room.
ReplyDeleteMarianne :)
Love the paint job on that mirror and I talked to one girl that said she may add the sample pots back. Thanks for joining the party.
ReplyDeleteI love what you did to the mirror! The dishes in the thyme box are lovely.

ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet! Pop in to say Hi and you've given me a shout out! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteLOVE, LOVE, LOVE that mirror! That is one of my "out to find" items. Wish I could luck up on one at a garage sale. BTW, I love that blue floral as well. I slipcovered a parsons chair for my sewing room out of that same fabric. It's one of my favorites.
Oh what pure pleasure popping in to your beautiful world Pamela !
ReplyDeleteLoVe the mirror, the Waverly fabrics, your green & white dishes especially displayed with the spring nest !
Thank you for sharing all the blessings !
The mirror looks absolutely GORGEOUS Pamela! You did an amazing job and it really does lighten up the room. You are making me want to go and rearrange my dining room buffet now! LOL! Everything is just lovely my friend. :-)
