Farmhouse Breakfast Nook Update & Christmas Sneak Peek

Hello everyone! I hope that y'all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! It has taken awhile but we are finally getting back to normal everyday life and things are coming together around the new house. I won't lie it has all been more than a tad overwhelming at times but as we check off things from our to-do list I feel so much better.

Farmhouse Lighting-Our Suburban Farmhouse

As soon as we signed on the dotted line to build our dream suburban farmhouse...thinking of a name for it because every farmhouse needs a name :)...I started shopping around for lighting. The builder had upgraded selections to choose from but nothing that sparked my interest plus I knew I could find lighting at better prices.

French Chandeliers

I have a thing for French Chandeliers. They make my heart go pitter pat. Thru the years I have slowly been adding some French inspired chandeliers to spaces in our home.

French Chandelier Makeover with Chalk Paint

French Chandelier Makeover-Chalk Paint- From My Front Porch To Yours
We have been fighting a bad chest cold around here this past week. It hit me pretty hard and I was down for most of the week. By the time Saturday came I was ready to DO something even though I was still not 100%.

New Chandy Bling & Spring

A few weeks back The Hubster and I installed our new yard sale chandy. I really liked it but I was not quite in love with it in our space. To me it was missing something. Something that would make it flow better with our decor.
I researched chandy bling and ordered some. I was afraid that they would not look as beautiful in person as they were in the listing picture. You can pretty much make anything look amazing in pictures with the right editing!;) To my surprise though they were even more beautiful. They are made from glass and not plastic so they have extra sparkle. I got 12ft for just $24.50 with free shipping. A pretty good deal I think.

The first thing I did was to swag the crystals around the entire chandy.
After adding swags around the chandy I decided to add a crystal to each tassel to ensure that it all tied together. I wanted the new bling to look original to the chandy. To help ensure this I made sure to order crystals that had the same silver loop as what was already on the chandy.

After all the bling was added I decided to add some gold accent by highlighting the candelabra holders as well as the leaf detail with some Rub N Buff.
Now the beautiful chandy is even more beautiful and ties in perfectly with our space.
And because I could not take pics of the new chandy bling without sharing the first signs of spring in our home here are the spring touches I added to the dining room.

I made this bunny centerpiece last year and instead of coming up with something new I decided to use it again.
We did not have the hutch this time last year so I enjoyed decorating it for spring.
My favorite bunny bowls I purchased from HomeGoods back in the fall.

I decided to show y'all the side of the dining room you never really see but it is the first thing you see when you walk in our front door. I love my federal mirror collection even if it is small.
I am now saving up for new dining chairs. I want to put the ones on the ends back in the office. I am thinking maybe some wing back chairs with slipcovers and then two frenchy oval back chairs for the side by the hutch.

Thanx for stopping by and I hope your week was a good one!

Lighting

I am in the midst of making a decision for our guest bedroom. I am working on the lighting for in there.
I shared this antique lamp last week that I purchased back in November when antiquing with my mama. It is the one lamp that is staying in the room. Yes, the gold mirror is from last week as well waiting to be made over like its twin or triplet in this case. Anyways, I am trying to figure out what style of lamp to do for the other bedside table.

I came across this Pottery Barn inspiration pic.

Went to Target today and found this lamp on clearance so I decided to bring it home to test it out. It was only $35 which is a far cry from the $129 PB wants for theirs.
Here is the full view. Still working on the headboard by the way!;)

Next up is another Pottery Barn inspiration pic.

Then I found this lamp at HomeGoods today for just $40. An even further cry from the $179 that PB wants for theirs! Can we say OUCH!
Keep in mind only one of the mirrors will be staying. I am wanting to do some smaller vintage mirrors on the wall where the lamp in question goes.

Now there is the love I have of chandy's. Inspiration from google. Check out that headboard while we are here! LOVE it!

This one is a tad over the top but still love it.Not sure where this pic came from. It was in my file.
More scaled to size chandy. Makes me say hmmmmm. Google again. Sorry!

Which brings me to this chandy that The Papa rewired for me. I love it but am torn on what way to go. If I chose this one should I hang it from a hook in the ceiling or should I hang it from an iron bracket attached to the side wall??
I have my two faves from this bunch. What one would you choose?

My Ebay Chandelier

This is the chandy I purchased off of Ebay last week. I loved the style but was not digging the silver finish.

Tada! The Hubster and I hung it today!

I think the oil rubbed bronze finish will go with our decor much better.

My fave part is it's bling!! I have been wanting a chandy with bling for some time now.

Not only did I paint it oil rubbed bronze but I also added some Rub N Bluff in Antique Gold to spice it up.

Here is the ceiling medallion I purchased at Lowes which I have to say cost almost as much as the chandy. These things are expensive!

Same technique used on this as the new chandy. I just love how it looks in the dining room but I will save that for another post!;)

Since the flooring being completed yesterday I have been busy busy busy. I stayed up till 3 am painting trim! I am also starting to get my house back!! The dining room is 100% moved back in as well as my kitchen table and my living is now comfy once again! I am over the moon! Can't wait to share!
Hope your weekend was a grand one!

Fragile

Look what came in the mail today marked FRAGILE! Can you guess what it is?

Yep, that's right! It was my $45 Ebay chandy. I was thrilled and I couldn't wait to get it out of the box to see if it was really going to meet all my expectations.

I have to say I have never had to put a chandy together piece by piece. Added bling yes but nothing like this.

Directions say Quick & Easy. Let's give it a shot.

It's 7:39 p.m. let the clock begin.

Yep, I would say that was pretty easy.

I would say that it was pretty quick as well! Took all of 7 minutes.

Now straight out to the garage. We have a date with ORB and Hammered Brown.

Let's not forget the new medallion I picked up at Lowes over the weekend.

Two and half hours later and this chandy has a new identity! Reveal coming soon!:)
