Recently I shared the plans for our master bedroom makeover.![]() |
Over this past weekend I spent the day painting. Bye bye Greige that was more brown than gray in our home. |

I didn't like how the bed was BAM right in your face as you walk in so on to the short wall it was moved. As you can see we had a supervisor. LOL. |

I have plans on painting the bed white or a gray color but I could not resist throwing on the new ticking stripe bed skirt and our quilt which we used in our last master bedroom. I was afraid that the quilt was not going to be long enough on the sides since we have a new deeper mattress. Thankfully it worked out! |

My supervisor agrees that the rug is best in front of the bed. She has found a new happy place to hang out!:) |

As for the long wall I have plans for it! This year we are going to have a Christmas tree! I am also hoping that I can find a salvaged fireplace mantel/surround. |

I think something like this would be fabulous. If I can not find one we will just build one. I am hoping to have one in the space before I take Christmas pictures. We shall see. |
It is looking great! That new color brightens up the room. I love your ticking bedskirt. Ticking is one of my favorite fabrics.
ReplyDeleteThank you Penny! It is one of my favorites as well.
DeleteLove the new arrangement. Looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThank you Marty!
DeleteThe direction you are going looks perfect. The bed placement seems right to me. I considered getting a mantel for our fireplace wall. You can find them easily in shops but they are high. Look on Craig's List...there are always some on there.
ReplyDeleteYes they are always high Stacey so that is why I think we are just going to build one. We have not had any luck on our Craigs List down here. Hope you are enjoying our cold weather!:) Seems every week and half we get two days of winter temps. LOL.
DeleteCozy looking bedroom! Can I ask where you purchased your bed...headboard and footboard? I love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! The bed I purchased from Birchlane. It is called the Reeves I believe.
DeleteI love everything, your paint color, bedding, area rug...wow, you've nailed it.
ReplyDeleteWe had a problem at the lakehouse with positioning our bed. Not only windows but eaves from the A frame. The best thing we did was place the bed on an angle in a corner. Wow-how it opened everything up! It freed up so much space. Keep playing-you will find what suits you best.

Hi Jane! We finally agreed on the short wall. Not what I originally wanted but now that the furniture is all in there and we have plans to build a faux fireplace I am happy with the placement.
DeleteLove the new color! I also like your bed frame! Funny about switching sides of the bed.,,we did that once too. Lasted one night!
ReplyDeleteAngelina ha! Yea, last all of one night. It was just awful. Hope you are settling in nicely at your gorgeous new home!
DeleteWhere did you find the ticking bed skirt? I've been searching for one and can't find one that I like. Thanks in advance. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Ann! The bedskirt I purchased from Country Curtains but I believe it is no longer available. They are going out of business. Thank you for stopping by for a visit!:)
DeleteOh my goodness, your bedroom is going to be gorgeous!!
