We have had crazy weather here in SE Texas. One day it is 87 and the next it could be 54. Ya never truly know what you are going to get.
Everything is starting to bloom early here because of the warmer weather and so I decided to go ahead and deck the front porch out for an early spring. |
My trusty DIY Welcome sign. |
Target outdoor pillow from last year but I think they are carrying it this year as well. |
I ordered the tray table from Decor Steals a few weeks back. It came with a shorter one as well that is on our back porch. |
Magnolia Wreath is from Michaels. |
Vintage style mailbox is from Zulilly. |
This half windmill is perfect for our front door. I purchased it on sale at Hobby Lobby. |
Another Hobby Lobby find. |
Could not resist this cute sheep pillow from At Home. |

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! Looks so relaxing and happy! I would go with the blue ceiling! I have thought about doing that to my front porch also! I will wait for you to do it first! :)
ReplyDeleteI think we will be going blue! I bought the paint. Now to just get out there and start!:)
DeleteSo pretty and inviting and looks like you.
ReplyDeleteThank you Marty! Yes, it does look like me. I had the best compliment from a neighbor over the weekend whom I had just met. We were talking about which houses we lived in and she said "Oh you live in the house whose porch makes me happy every day!".
DeleteThat blue you used on your shutters is fabulous! It goes so well with that dark brown and stone. I think that a blue ceiling will continue to make you feel cool while sitting in that hot Texas heat. It gave me that feeling when we were in Florida and I was sitting on a porch that was painted blue. It just makes you think of a cool ocean! Or Ice Water!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't hate this, but that welcome sign, albeit is gorgeous, it seems to take away from your wonderful front door and the balance of the whole picture.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so welcoming! I love the idea of the ceiling being the blue of the shutters - that is so southern!
ReplyDeleteThank you Penny! Can not wait to see more of your new home.
DeleteHi! Oh my Goodness, I just love your home. You have such great taste. I am sure you will pick the perfect color! I know what you mean about weather, I am in Shreveport, La. Ya just never know! lol Love to visit here, Lynn
ReplyDeleteLynn thank you oh so much for taking the time to visit!
DeleteSo, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThank you Brooke. It won't be long till you start having to make choices!
DeleteIf that swing starts to swing a little wonkey get a pool noodle and slice it open to put on the arm so it doesnt get chewed up by the stone.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea Bliss! The only part that rubs on the stone thankfully is the chain. I really wish they would have drilled holes in the arms for the chain to go thru like most other swings.
DeleteI would take lots of naps in the swing! It looks so inviting.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandra Lee! I take my naps in the backyard on my other swing!;)
DeleteLove the look, Pamela! You got some great items to really make it feel like another room out there. Love that magnolia wreath, but the furniture from Grandinroad is super nice. Enjoy while you can, before it gets too hot!
ReplyDeleteThank you Rita! Yes, before I know it it will be way too hot.
DeleteDefinitely a blue ceiling!
ReplyDeleteBlue it will be Eva! Keep checking for updates.
DeleteLooks great! Nice job!
ReplyDeleteThank you Cindy.
DeleteThank you for the information on where to purchase the items you have used in your decor. I was wondering about Zulilly. Have you ordered from them before and are they a good company. Thanks for your help.
ReplyDelete*Smiles*
Hi Lady Pamela. Thank you for stopping by to visit. Yes, I order from Zulilly time from time. It is just like Joss & Main but offers more of a variety. I actually have two spiral topiaries for the porch coming from them any day.
DeleteLove the swing and I would paint the ceiling blue.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kim and yes, the ceiling will soon be blue!:)
DeleteBeautiful!!! The outside of your home is stunning!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Debbie
Thank you so much Debbie! I hope that your week is going well.
DeleteI think the blue ceiling is just the right approach for your charming front porch. Perhaps you already know about the theory behind painting a porch ceiling blue...aka HAINT BLUE?
ReplyDelete"Once upon a time in the deep South, many people painted their porch ceilings a specific shade of Haint Blue, a soft blue-green, to ward off evil spirits called "haints." It's especially common in the historic homes around Savannah, Georgia, and Charleston, South Carolina. Although ghosts and goblins might not be front-of-mind for modern homeowners, many continue the tradition of blue porch ceilings to keep ties to their home's Southern roots".

ReplyDeleteThank you Shirley! Yes, I am going to have so much fun decorating it. We are the first house you see when you come into our section so I feel obligated to keep it inviting and welcoming.
DeleteSo charming Pam. I have to agree the ceiling painted blue would be so pretty. Love your farmhouse porch. It is charming and so welcoming.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kris
Pamela, I love your gorgeous house and your beautiful front porch. I know that you must love sitting out there. You have done such a wonderful job decorating the space. I have a question. What color are your shutters? I have a French Country style house, and I am wanting to paint my shutters a blue color. I love yours.
ReplyDeleteHi Shannon! I am still dreaming about your bunny at your front door! I need his cousin for mine. LOL. The color of our shutters is called Special Delivery by Pittsburgh Paints. If we could have chosen from Sherwin Williams I would have gone with Sea Salt.
DeletePamela,
ReplyDeleteAnother vote for a blue porch ceiling...
Judith

DeleteI love the shade of blue you used for the shutters - beautiful!
ReplyDeleteFajne zdjęcia i aranżacje, zobacz też fajne meble.
ReplyDeleteI love what you did to your front porch. Simply, but beautiful
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteDo you remember what color of rocking chairs from Grandin Road you ordered? Are they they weathered black?? I'm trying to decide between the weathered black and solid black myself and haven't been able to see many pictures of the weathered black!
ReplyDeleteKyle they are the weathered black. These are the best rockers ever!
DeleteI know this blog is old so not sure if you'll read this message but what did you hang your magnolia wreath on? I have several double windows with vinyl in the middle and I am looking for suggestions. TIA!
ReplyDeleteOur home is hardi plank so I was able to just use a screw. Your best bet is to clean and dry the are where you want to hang your wreath and use the appropriate sized 3M hook. I do not always have success with them staying but on most occasions they will.
