If you are thinking about painting your kitchen cabinets a tip that I am sure you have thought about is to label each door so you know exactly where they go. |
A tip from our lesson learned is to also label the hinges! The Hubster and I spent 30 minutes trying to get two of the doors to hang correctly after we put them back up. It finally dawned on us they were not working right because the hinges were not placed back on in the spot they came from. Now I am using a Sharpie to label all the hinges. A true time saver and sanity saver! Kitchen Reno Part 1 Kitchen Reno Part 2 Kitchen Reno Part 3 Stay tuned for more updates! I like the clock on the hood!
ReplyDeleteIt is coming along beautifully. You are much faster than me though. My kitchen cabinet painting cabinet stopped at one coat of wax and the buffing was so tedious that I haven't followed up with additional coats! My bad. Goal: To complete it by the end of April. Blessings to you, Patti
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! It's turning out beautifully! What a difference those painted cabinets make...it's as if you have brand new cabinets! Carry on, girlfriend...you'll be finished before you know it! xo, Kimberly

ReplyDeleteI love how this turned out! This is exactly what I've been planning to do in my kitchen... paint my uppers, leave the bases stained. If mine looks half as good as yours when I'm finished, I'll be a happy girl!!

Nice work! Painting cabinets is hard, so I'm in awe of yours. After I painted cabinets and put the hinges back on, the doors wouldn't meet in the middle right. I have no idea why, but had to adjust the hinge placement a bit.. it was a pain! Enjoy your pretty place!
ReplyDeleteLove the renovation and like you we also have a microwave above the stove. Did you buy another one to put on the counter? What kind of hood did you add since I don’t see any exhaust going out of the top of the cabinet?
ReplyDeleteYes we purchased a counter microwave. The venting is still in the top of the hood on the stove. All we did was close it off from the outside since we no longer needed it but if the new owners ever decide to reinstall one there they still have the option to. The venting went from the back of the cabinet thru the wall to the roof.
