Front Door Project

Have y'all been going stir crazy as well? I am normally a homebody but the fact that I can not go somewhere has me wanting to go every where!:) I have been behaving though and coming up with little projects to keep me busy.

Here is our Easter door from last year. Do not worry, I will be sharing our Easter porch from this year in the next post.

Front -Door- Update-Paint- From My Front Porch To Yours
After 3.5 years of wear and tear our door was looking pretty sad. I hemmed and hawed what I wanted to do about it, mind you that was probably a 6 month process, but I finally  got busy freshening it up. I started at dusk but only finished taping off the windows before it got dark so I brought out a lamp so I could work. I am sure my neighbors all thought I had lost my mind.:)

I was able to get two coats on before the bugs drove me inside. The next morning I was able to complete painting. I used outdoor paint with primer but it still took about 4 coats to fully cover the door.

I am just thrilled with the end result! It really has brought our door to life.

What have y'all been up to during all of this downtime?

  1. Pamela,
    Great transformation!
I have had "Mr. Ed" update nearly every single inch
of our 1970's Ranch Style Home that the front door
is the one 'original' thing left. . .this is quite appealing!
    Up to. . .Spring Cleaning!
Once the weather stabilizes, I have a furniture make~over for "Mr. Ed"!
    Great to hear from you!

    1. Hi Pat! So nice to see that you stopped by for a visit. Our weather has been so crazy. We will have 90 degrees for a day or two then 70s and 80's and then back down to 40's at night and 60's during the day. Pretty much every season every week for us! LOL.
