New Additions to the Living Room

Changes in one space more often than not require changes to another space so you can always find me working on multiple spaces in our home at a time. Our living room is one of those spaces.
Living- room -Furniture & Decor- From My Front Porch To Yours

This corner of our living room has been a sitting area but really just for looks. Nobody enjoyed sitting there. The chair sits low and you couldn't really enjoy the tv from this spot. Last Christmas I moved this chair into the master bedroom and never moved it back. I like it next to the faux fireplace in there. That meant that this little corner needed a refresh.

I decided to purchase an Ektorp chair for this corner since our sectional is an Ektorp. Very comfy pieces of furniture and very practical with boys and pets in the house. I knew that I did not want just the standard slip cover for it so I ordered this Ballad Bouquet slip cover. It was on sale so a win! It is the same print as the slip covered parsons chairs in our dining room. I like tying main rooms in our home together.

Since I can never leave well enough alone and always enjoy mixing patterns, that is was exactly I did. After a few tweaks this is what I came up with. We had purchased the blue Ektorp slip cover in store, the seat cushion is just blue and white ticking stripe fabric leftover from the skirt I made for our kitchen island, and the buffalo check pillow is from Kirklands and matches the buffal0 check curtains in our dining room. It was like it was meant to be!

I then created a large arrangement for this vintage style basket and ladder. Due to the size of the new chair I was able to move it up leaving an empty space behind the chair. The ladder fits perfectly.

Old George even found a new home. He had been waiting since we moved in almost 3 years ago for the perfect spot. George is one of my treasured antique finds from goodness 7 years ago I think. I had found him and Martha. He is approximately 158 years old.

Repositioning the chair allowed me to place my vintage table behind it. It makes the perfect spot for some of my favorite decor books and magazines.

This space is now not only beautiful but also functional. The repositioning of the larger chair allows for whomever sits in it to enjoy the tv.

    1. I ordered it. It doesn't fit snuggly. It is large in certain areas but I was able to adjust it and with using the cushions on top of it you can not tell that it doesn't fit well. It is called Ballad Bouquet by Waverly. Google it and it will pull up multiple places to order it from. I like to shop around for the best deal at the time.
