One of the changes to the space was our lighting. We actually changed out to this chandelier shortly after we moved in almost three years ago. I had ordered it when we were still at our previous home.

Here is a pic I found of the old chandelier from the day we moved in.

As you can see I have a blue and white theme for this house.  The lace window toppers were replaced with blue and white damask panels.

My beloved toile curtains were replaced with white eyelet cafe curtains.

Originally I had wanted to build a banquette in here along with built in cabinetry on the sides of the windows. I ended up going a different route with the free standing furniture pieces so I decided the space needed a free standing banquette as well. This was my most expensive purchase of the makeover and I have ZERO regrets on purchasing it! I ordered it from Ballard Designs. It is custom made and the quality is fantastic. I have ordered from them for years but only decor so I was nervous to say the least. It took about a month for it to be made and may sound like a long time but it originally was suppose to take longer so I was thrilled when it arrived early! Note that they always have some type of sale going on so you can get good deals. I ordered our banquette at 30% off.

Speaking of luck I ended up finding blue and white buffalo check pillows at Kirklands and they just happen to match the buffalo check curtains in our dining room. Since the pillows were half off there was no leaving them behind. LOL.

I used an indoor/outdoor rug. A must when you have men in the house and pets. Super easy to clean if necessary and super durable! I ordered this one from Ballard Designs and yes, it was on sale too!:)
