I tend to go crazy during the holidays so the less is more decor is a welcomed change.

I ordered these fabulous chippy lanterns back at Christmas. They are by Ragon House I believe it is. I couldn't resist since they had the blue gray color peeking thru.

I purchased these old books a few years back when out antiquing with mama.

I never bothered to really look at them till now and fell in love with the fact that they are written on. I researched Ms. Sweetie Burgess and she is from Oglethorpe, Ga and was around 16 years old when she wrote on this book. I always love to learn as much as I can about the treasures I find.

Love that it has actually been cold enough this winter to use the fireplace and not just for pictures. LOL.

This is a picture from late afternoon/early evening at our house. The sunsetting and shining off of the house next-door leaves a pink glow on our walls so I always have to be sure to pictures before the sun starts setting.

I finally finished putting all the holiday up from the dining room. Now to figure out what to do in there till Spring comes.

  1. Your mantel looks so pretty Pamela! Our youngest daughter came over for dinner on Sunday and asked when I was going to do something with our mantel, since it's been bare after the Christmas decorations were taken down. I'd better get on it! Thanks for the inspiration!

    1. Thanks Pam. LOL on your daughters comment. Mine typically is bare after the holidays too. It is always hard to decide what to do during the in between months.
