| Welcome to another addition of Sundays By The Shore. Last week I mentioned a few of the East Coast beaches I have visited. One in particular holds a special place in my heart. Hilton Head Island is only about 2 hours from where I lived and my friend Debbie and I had a girls trip there. Mr. Front Porch and I would also frequently take a day trip over. We were engaged on Hilton Head Island. |

WOW! A family reunion could take place there! I like the elevator idea! My mother and her late husband spent their honey moon there and every year after that until his polio resurfaced with a vengeance. He would golf, and mom would bike ride, shop and sight-see. Then, they would spend the rest of the time together enjoying themselves. It was sad when they stopped going. Shortly after, my stepfather died, and a year or so later, my mom decided to moved to a independent living senior center. She now has dementia. My brothers make sure she is cared for, and the senior living place has plenty of activities to keep her busy. When the dementia gets to the point where she can't take care of herself adequately, she will go to another kind of care in the same facility. I hope you don't mind me telling you this. Although I've never been to Hilton Head, two people I love very much have been there. Thank you for that memory.
ReplyDeleteI'd be happy to use our little camper to stay at Highline State Park just 7 1/2 miles from our house. Of course a beach rental would be excellent, have our daughter and family join us. Having access to a boat would be lovely at Highline also. Ah well, enjoy the beach for us, happy time.

ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous Pamela! The kitchen is awesome and that staircase!!! I think Savannah and Asheville are our favorite towns to visit.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful rental. I have always wanted to go to Hilton Head.Maybe one day. We love going to St. John, VI it is so peaceful with all the beaches and locals.
