Farmhouse Love

It is that time of year again when we get excited for Round Top Antique week. It actually lasts longer than a just a week because some places open up for two weeks. I am not sure if I will make it up there or not but I thought that I would take a trip down memory lane. Back in the Spring of 2015 we drove up to Round Top to tour some farmhouses that at the time a builder was offering. Since then the builder no longer builds them but they truly started our love and quest for a farmhouse style home.

This little green one was my favorite! I love the color green and would have loved to have chosen green for our new home but Mr. Front Porch was not having it. Would you live in a green farmhouse?

The green farmhouse was just charming from room to room.

I loved the open kitchen! If you missed seeing the green farmhouse last year be sure to click on over for the full tour

The larger farmhouse had front and back porches that dreams are made of.

Of course I loved all the shiplap.

The bead board ceiling and beams are something that I have in mind for our farmhouse. It is hard to believe that I am even saying "our" farmhouse! We never thought in  million years that just a year and half later we would be in the middle of building our dream home. To see the original tour of the larger farmhouse you can click here.

Speaking of our farmhouse here is where we are at to date. Inside they are working on patching up walls and painting. They are completing some electrical work and thankfully the AC has been turned on so if we are lucky the wood flooring will arrive and start going down sometime this week. On the outside they graded our yard so possibly the landscaping and sprinkler system will be completed as well. To be honest it truly is a guessing game on what to expect from week to week but the end is in sight and we have been given a closing date of Oct 28. Not as early as we would like but that is life. We will just keep our fingers crossed closing will not be delayed!

  1. Love these homes you shared and your home is going to be the best. I know it is so hard to wait, but hopefully it goes by quickly and maybe it will be sooner.

  3. Your farmhouse is coming along beautifully! We moved to ours last year, a mix of an English Cottage, a Victorian and Farmhouse style. We chose green shingles for our siding, with white windows, a black door and black trim every where, with white spindles for the veranda and stairs. You'll love living in a new home! Congratulations.
