Farmhouse Model Home Tour -Part 1

***Update- I have received a ton of emails about who the builder is of the farmhouses. I was going to add their contact info and the website for everyone but after finding that the website is no longer up I contacted the builder and sadly they are no longer offering the farmhouses in their line up and have since closed the model homes in Round Top.***

Mr. Front Porch and I have been tossing around the idea of building a home for almost two years now. After visiting many a model home in many different communities we finally decided what we really would love to do is to buy an acre or two of land and build us a farmhouse. After doing some research we found a builder who has some model homes up in Round Top, Texas so my three men and I hopped in the car for a Sunday drive.

Is this not the most darling farmhouse ever!? I love the tin roof! If you follow along with me you probably know by now I love the color green as well.

The front and back porch of this model were huge!

Both farmhouses we toured had combined living/dining/kitchen areas which was just fine with us. Though I adore our dining room and it is one of my favorite rooms in our home we rarely ever use it.

This farmhouse had two bedrooms and two baths.

The guest bedroom was just darling.

They must have read my mind because not only was the outside painted in my favorite color but they also decorated with bunnies which I love as well.

Speaking of love, the master bedroom was divine. Decorated in green with green buffalo check curtains. It had me at hello!

I know you all were wanting to see the kitchen but I wanted to save the best for last.

I love the open concept of this space and how bright and airy it is.

Mr. Front Porch and I both commented on how the coloring in this home and even the larger farmhouse we toured was very similar to ours.

The t.v. was only on the counter for the builders purpose. If we were to build this plan but on a larger scale I would move the kitchen sink over to this set of windows.

Hope you liked the tour.

  10. I love this house! The porch is fabulous and I'd spend a great deal of time out there with my books and coffee. I agree with you about the kitchen sink, too. BUT, the one thing that caught my eye immediately was the refrigerator. I would move it to the other side of the stove or flip the unit sides if you keep it there. If I were at the stove and needed milk I'd have to go clear to the other side instead of moving one step to the right and opening it. Just a thought.

  12. The first thought I had was to rearrange the appliances......stove is too far away from the sink........move sink to the other windows. The pop up ads were very annoying but I stuck with it to see this charming farm home.....

    1. Thank you for visiting sweet violet! I apologize about the ads. It is something new for me and well they do not show up on my end all the time so it is hard for me to see exactly what they look like. I will continue to try and monitor it and see how I can have my ad manager pull back on the ads that are at the bottom of the pictures. I think those are the ones you are referring to?
