French Country Farmhouse Dining Room

It is bittersweet going thru and sharing pictures of our home with you all. Knowing all the hard work we put into this house to make it a home. All the memories we have made here. I pray that the next owners love and care for it as much as we have and still do.

I have had the bug to swap out to summer themed decor but it is all packed up and in storage. Plus I need to keep things simple for showings.

This bull money bank is still one of my most favorite finds over the years.

I am thinking of selling our china cabinet or possibly even painting it black for the next house. I have not decided yet. What do you think?

Speaking of selling things, do you notice something missing from this space? I sold the little blue buffet that use to sit under the chalkboard. The person who bought it was thrilled to have gotten it so it warmed my heart to know it would still be loved.

My favorite chandelier! I tell ya it is hard to leave it with the house but it makes the space and goes with all the other lighting we added. I already have ideas for lighting at the next house. I can't wait to share those ideas with you all. I did joke that if I saw the new owner trying to sell my lighting I would buy it from them!;)

We truly only use our dining room a few times a year but something about walking in the house and seeing it welcomes you home. It is a comforting feeling.

  1. Such a pretty room. I love the mix of white furniture with the stained wood. That chandelier is beautiful too and the new owner would be crazy not to want it!

  2. Pamela, take it from someone who left things for the new owner of our last house. If you love it, plan to take it. And take the cabinet to the next house and wait a few months. If it doesn't still work for you, sell it then. I have a lot of regrets about our last move and it's the ones I gave away or sold.

    1. I am trying to decide exactly what I love and want to move. Some things I am ok with selling and not having to worry about storing for several months. It is such a daunting task. The next house will be similar styling but a little different so I am just trying to figure out what pieces will still work. I have regrets too though from past moves. I am still sad I sold some Pottery Barn nightstands I had.

    1. Thank you so much Jane! I need to find time to come up with a new design for the chalk board but that one I can pretty much do in my sleep.

  4. How far away are you moving? I agree with other comments to take what you aren't sure of and decide after you get there. Your home is gorgeous and the new one will be too!!!

    1. Hi Pinky! We are moving across town. About 30 minutes away. It is the firs time we will be moving on our dime so we are doing most everything ourselves so fewer large pieces of furniture to move seems quite appealing!:)

  5. Beautiful! I bought Annie Sloan chalk paint to redo my dining room hutch - but have been scared to start for almost six months! Maybe you've brought me the inspiration I need!
