A lot of newer homes these days have elusive art niches. Our home is no exception. It is always so hard to figure out what to do with them. |
Back in the spring I found this piece at HomeGoods and thought how perfect! |
That all changed after my trip to Laurie's where I had a GC to spend. I ended up redoing the niche and painted over the Sevlte Sage. |
I had to repaint because otherwise this beauty would not have stood out. |
I think it fits in perfectly. Now if I can only figure out what to put on the wall to the left of it!? |
I also had enough to purchase this gorgeous architectural piece. I have no idea where I am going to put it but I had to have it. Linking up to the following link parties: Metamorphosis Mondays Nifty Thrifty Tuesday CowGirl Up Party Wow Us Wednesday |
Lovely pieces! I'm sure you will find the perfect spot for the architectural piece too.
ReplyDeleteThe clock is perfect for your niche! And it is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI have a niche, too, and I've struggled with what to put there. Right now, I have a trio of wedding photos, but it still seems empty.
Still searching for my perfect something!

Pamela, it is perfect there.
ReplyDeleteOh that niche with the Mora Clock is stunning. I also LOVE the architectural piece.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas
The clock is perfect for your niche and so pretty! And the other piece...well it makes my heart go pitter patter. I love it! Now I really, really, need to make a trip to Laurie's sometime in 2013!
ReplyDeletePamela, The clock was meant for your niche. It looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI am very partial to mirrors.... they reflect light. So, my vote for the spot to the left is a large mirror.......
ReplyDeleteThat is absolutely perfect Pamela and looks just beautiful! Well done girl! :-)

Wow! The clock is stunning in your niche! I had a niche in another house. It was much wider so I put a very large and ornate mirror inside it and painted the inside of the niche a metallic copper color. But I am telling you that I've never seen a better way to treat a niche as your clock!
ReplyDeleteWhy do builders even do that????? I have never seen one that I thought looked good, until now!!! That clock is so lovely and so perfect in there that I wouldn't notice it was one of those "niches" until you pointed it out. We were supposed to have one halfway up our stairs, at the landing. What in the heck do you stick there? My son's dirty socks, my girls endless bobby pins and other misc that falls out of their hair or they leave around? Luckily the builder worked with us and they just built over it. Now the misc kid stuff just piles up in their baskets at the bottom of the stairs. And this definitely is not art.
ReplyDeleteLove these pieces the are beautiful!! I wish I stumbled upon a clock like that somewhere! Looks great :)
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love it!!! I also love Laurie's!!! What a fabulous store!! You have some great treasures!!!
ReplyDeleteThat clock is just beautiful, Pamela! I love the look of these Mora clocks, too. I have nowhere to put one, but I like them. Love the architectural piece, too. I'd love to see where it winds up. I have that piece I made over that is similar in size. Have no idea where I could put it either.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the clock Pamela!! You found the perfect spot for it!
ReplyDeleteThat clock was just made for that niche!! absolutely wonderful there!
ReplyDeleteIt is a perfect piece for that spot. Looks great.
ReplyDeleteThe clock is perfect in your niche! What a great find. You must be thrilled with it. Anxious to see what you do with the architectural piece. It's lovely.
ReplyDeleteLove it!!! I've been looking for a Mora clock too!! I've seen these several times, but just haven't made the purchase yet!! Maybe someday! Love yours!! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHey there, Pamela...
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the Mora clock!! Great colors and a great choice for your niche. I know your pain about wanting one of these clocks. We have a Swedish antiques dealer a few miles up the road from us, and I can barely afford to walk in the door, let alone look at their clocks! Nice to know there are some repro's out there. I have a similar architectural piece in my home that I would up just leaning against the back wall of a bookshelf nestled up against books and other objects, and it looks very much at home there. Could be worth a try!
Hope you have a wonderful holiday!
