Quick Ice Skate Wreath Project

Ice Skate Wreath- From My Front Porch To Yours
Sarah from Alderberry Hill shared this beautiful wreath that she made with us for a recent Treasure Hunt Thursday. I was in love with it and it just so happened that I owned a pair of ice skates. I have had them for two years now and just did not know how to display them. Then I saw Sarah's wreath and instant inspiration!

This is my scaled down version.

All I did was attach the ice skate with some brown twine to where you could not see it. I just looped it thru one of the shoe lace holes. Then I added one pick and the only pick I could find at HobLob. After that I took the red bow which came from a bundle of fresh greenery and just bent the wire to slide on to the top of the wreath. Presto! A simple fabulous wreath in under 10 minutes that cost literally less than $2.50!! Now that is my kind of decorating!

Thanx Sarah for the inspiration!

Busy busy busy & A Few Questions

Wow we have been busy as bees around here! As you can see we are just plum tuckered out!;)

Things are coming along nicely. Note this is a pick from last year. Nobody likes a post without some eye candy so I had to throw some in there.

Don't forget about my first annual Holiday Mantel party!
I would LOVE to have y'all come over to party and bring your friends! It will be a blast!

Now on to my questions. Can anybody tell me what the difference between hitting the FOLLOW button up at the top of Blogger Blogs is and Google Friend Connect? I have noticed that even though I have been following blogs for quite some time that I am NOT showing up on the count on Google Connect so now I am having to go back and follow them thru Google Connect. I do not mind at all but just wonder why it is this way?

Secondly I am considering on taking on sponsors now that my blog is growing so fast. I was only at 174 followers back in April and now geez I am humbled and honored so very much when I see my numbers just keep going up! Blogging is a LOT of work. The prep time is out of this world and very time consuming but I LOVE doing it and making new bloggy friends. As you now though sometimes blogging takes some cash flow and well sometimes that is not available so to keep the projects coming so I figured sponsorship may be the way to go. So if you have sponsors I would LOVE to hear your take on it and how it is going! If you are interested in being a sponsor of FMFPTY let me know too! That may help me make my final decision!;)
Okay off to clean the dishes, caulk some baseboards, and maybe just maybe get the tree in the living room that is just sitting in the foyer right now.
Hope your Friday was a fab one y'all!

All I want for Christmas!

Can you believe they only are asking $100 for this piece!!!?? Catch is that it is on their second story and they will not help move it. I had high hopes that it would fit in the Flex since it comes in two pieces but not so sure how I can get it down a flight of stairs. Sigh.....Oh Santa can you send me a few elves to help me out please??!!;) It would look fabulous in our dining room!

See y'all back here tomorrow evening for Treasure Hunt Thursday!

Queen Of Hearts

Last week was a very busy week for us. As you know we traveled to Ga to visit both sets of family. This year was unique in the fact that it was the first year we have had to split our time between the two sides. We had been fortunate enough to have both sets of grandparents live just down the road from each other up until this past August. The first half of the week we spent with my side of the family and the latter half with The Hubster's.

The Nana & The Papa moved pretty much to the same area as one of the sweetest, nicest bloggers out there, Kim from Savvy Southern Style! I had asked her a few months ago where her fave spots to shop where and Queen of Hearts was one of them. I was super excited to pay it a visit despite the fact that the entire family was in tow.
Before we headed out I sent Kim an email saying we were on our way there and if she just happened to be out and about it would be fabulous to meet up with her. I did not contact Kim to make formal plans before hand to meet up because I knew Thanksgiving week is a hectic week for everybody and she was cooking for 30 + people!

Queen of Hearts had me from hello! By this time I saw an email stating that Kim was on her way! Yippee! I was super excited!

The Hubster thought that these were cool so did the owner.

The boys thought that this old register was neat and wanted to bring it home.

Eye candy was every where!

I got excited when I saw these bunny pictures! I had been hunting some down for what seems like forever. Well my excitement dwindled fast when I saw that they were $250 EACH! Ouch! Needless to say they stayed behind.

Looking for an old window? They had all sizes and styles!

Neat trees made from burlap strips.

This shadow box was really beautiful.

I also liked this shelf and...

this cow print. The cow print was almost $100!!

A truly fabulous booth that just makes ya stop in your tracks.

I loved this petite french country china cabinet. If we lived in the area it would have come home with us at only $250!

This cabinet was fabulous as well!

By this time it looked as if Kim was not any where to be found.

I was able to look at a few more booths.

Then it was time to go. The men folk had grown restless.
I checked my email one last time before leaving and Kim had said that she was there and did not see me anywhere! Turns out that there are not one but three Queen of Hearts in the Atlanta area and we ended up at two differ ones!:(  I was at the one right down from her house and she had driven all the way across town to another one. I felt just awful but all was good though. You can read about her adventure here!

I am thinking that this upcoming summer the boys and I may spend a few weeks in Ga. If so I will certainly make concrete plans before hand to meet up and shop with Kim!

Christmas Mantel 2010 & Invitation

Happy Monday morning y'all! Hope yours is going well!  It is cold here in Texas this morning and I actually had to turn the heat on for the very first time last night. I wish it would stick around but alas the warmer weather I am sure will be back.
I must say it was kinda tough getting back into the swing of things this morning after being off for a week. We are already counting down the next three weeks till school lets out again!
Since the men folk are off at work and school I have the Christmas music playing in the background and am getting ready to pop open those holiday bins to start my holiday decorating rampage! The Hubster always love coming home to that!;)

Here is what our mantel looked like last year! It may very well look the same this year. Not sure yet. The major difference I am thinking will be the new surround tile and the wood floors! I can not wait to see it all pulled together.

I am sure some of you are already ahead of the game but for those of us who are not I wanted to give us a week to prep for The first annual FMFPTY Holiday Mantel Party! It will be next Monday Dec 5! You can link up last years vs this years mantels, just this years mantels, or if you do not have a holiday mantel you can share any holiday display! I will have the link open next Sunday evening starting a 8pm so get your pictures taken and come on back by for some holiday fun!

Please feel free to grab the party button on my side bar. I have the button created but not the html yet. I always forget how to do that so you will just have to grab the pic and insert my blog address for now pretty please.

I have also included my holiday playlist on my sidebar! No worries though it will only play if ya tell it to!
Have a grand one y'all!
