Laundry Room Makeover Part 1 Farmhouse Cottage Style

I noticed that my post Farmhouse Laundry Room Mini Makeover from way back in 2017 has been popular here of late.

At the time I was not ready to do a full makeover so all I did was change out the paint color of the space.

As you can see paint makes such a huge difference just by itself!

Fast forward to 2020.
In the spring it was obvious we would need more fridge/freezer space due to the circumstances in the world. We were going to go with just a freezer out in the garage but realized we needed more fridge space than freezer space. Plus I know we would not be huge fans of having to go outside to the garage to get what we needed. That left us with finding a fridge that would fit in the small space we could make in our laundry room by pushing the washer and dryer down the wall. Freezers and small fridges/freezers were almost non existent because everyone was having the same idea. Everything was back ordered till September and we just didn't want to wait that long. In the end it all worked out in my favor because I found the cutest retro style apartment size fridge online and it was delivered within a weeks time!

Said fridge sat in our living room for several months till I could come up with a plan to makeover our laundry room. We were stuck at home so what better time! I went thru several different wall paper options never making my mind up. I had even bought some but decided that maybe I wanted something else. I drive Mr. Front Porch crazy like that!:) I then picked out this fun colorful peel and stick wallpaper which I loved but by the time I had made my mind up on it it had sold out and I didn't want to wait.

Here is my original plan for the space and for which I had already purchased the peel and stick for.

Before I put the original peel and stick up I also tried out a botanical idea I had in my head. Now that I look at it it really was not a bad idea but I would have had to hunt down some more prints and that could be pricey. These I had already on hand.

So I tacked up a roll of the peel and stick and decided that I just should have gone with my original plan from the beginning and stop guessing myself!

Come back by for more of my laundry room makeover saga.

  1. Your original plan goes better with the floor tile. Very nice choice Pamela! Your Mr Front Porch is a very patient man indeed. Says a lot when he can go a long with the flow of things, he must know it's going to be fabulous any way you go.
