Twice a year there is Antique Week up in and around Round Top,Texas. They have a Spring show and then one in the fall. I had not been in a few years and wanted to drive up. Round Top is only about an hour and half away from our new stomping ground but I did not want to go alone so when my friend Janet texted and asked if I wanted to go I said heck yea!
We did not have much time. We had to go and get back in time to get the kids from school. That left us about 5 hours to get up there, shop and back. Our mission was to find her a kitchen table. |
One of the places we stopped was McLaren's which is a cool place. There was a table there she really loved but it was not the right size and in the end I think we decided not the right shape. |
Vendors travel over the pond and bring back so many treasures to sell at Round Top. Of course the prices reflect that. |
You have to be knowledgeable enough to be able to tell the true pieces from the knock offs. |
This door is amazing! |
Chandy envy. |
I loved this little cabinet. |
Such a cool mirror. It was HUGE so I imagine you would have to have a two story fireplace for it. |
I am not sure if this bed is a reproduction or not but it sure was beautiful. |
I purchased this light from Paul Michael. Yes, I know it was freaking Round Top and I bought a manufactured light fixture but it was what I was after so I am glad that had brought some with them. I had seen it on their website a few weeks back and fell in love with it. I think it will hang in our stairwell to the game room. Sharing at French Country Cottage and Savvy Southern Style. |
How fun! I've been hearing about Round Top since I began blogging six years ago. You are a lucky girl!! Great, great stuff. I'd have to forget my wallet!

I have always wanted to venture down to Round Top however it's like 14 hour drive so just never went. I would like to see all the booths and what they offer.
ReplyDeleteYou were brave to try that trip while kids was in school.
I've been to Round Top twice when I happened to be in the area while it was going on. I loved every minute of it and would love to go again some day. I really enjoying seeing your pictures and reading about your trip!
