Are you like me and houses have to speak to you? For me I can walk in a home and within the first step inside I can tell whether it is a house that speaks to me. I can tell whether it pulls at my heart strings. I can tell whether I can picture our family making a home there. Today on our house hunt tour I am sharing such a house.
The moment we pulled up it started looking great! It has a large workshop/man cave and the perfect driveway for playing basketball. |
It has custom features like the beautiful coffered wood ceiling in the office. |
It has wood beams which I love! It however did not have wood flooring anywhere but the tile was nice, neutral and clean so I could look past that because that is how much I loved this home. |
No farmhouse sink but it has beautiful granite. |
Gorgeous stone fireplace. |
The master bath was a great size. |
The boys and I thought that the grotto styled walk in shower was pretty cool. |
This home even has a pool! |
Littlest was excited about the fire pit. So this house hit a lot on our wish list. What it did not hit was location to work. It also was only 3 bedrooms and the one bedroom was small. No game room either so we were trying to figure out how to work around all that. We had thought about closing the dining room in and making it a fourth bedroom since the kitchen was so large and we rarely ever use the dining room. We could try and add on a fourth bedroom but it was already at the top of what we were wanting to spend. This house had us brain storming quite a bit. We ended up visiting it 3 times over a few months. I could see our family in this house for a long, long time. We spoke with our Realtor and were ready to put in an offer. She was out of town at the time so we had a day to mull it over and decide on our offer amount. It is funny how plans can change in just a days time. I will go ahead and let you all know we ended up not making an offer on this house. I say that with a little sadness. I am however so happy for the owners because shortly after we opted not to make an offer they went under contract and have since sold their home! The home is in the country thus the market is much slower out there. They had been trying to sell since December so I know they were over the moon to finally have it sold. Selling a home is not for the weary! Stay tuned for the next installment of our journey! Pamela, this is such a beautiful home; and I can see why you and your family loved it so much. It brings back such great memories of our time in Austin. The stone facade was so prevalent there. I am sure when the truly perfect home comes along, you will know. And there will be no hesitation whatsoever!
ReplyDeleteHi Shenita! It has been so long my friend. Funny how life gets away from us. I am so glad that you stopped by for a visit. I hope that all is well for you and your family. Yes, we will find the perfect house for us.
DeleteIs adding wood floors in the budget, in case the next one you really like comes along with carpet or tile? And you know..... that detached garage would have also made a pretty sweet game room as those boys turn into teens.
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely Pamela, but knowing you, you can make any house you put your magic on into a dream! Best of luck!
ReplyDeletePamela, beautiful home makes me see why you loved it. But I can see why realtors and staggers continually say to reduce, reduce, reduce when trying to sell a home. Those bathroom cabinets were really special! loved them.
ReplyDeleteThis home and property is gorgeous, but I know how important being close to your hubby's work is....there is always something around the corner perfect for you! :)
