Mr. Front Porch was not so sure at first what we would end up with but thankfully he helped me install the faux brick panels anyways. I shared the process of installing them in my DIY Faux Brick Wall- Part 1 post. As you can see the panels certainly have a 70s/80s vibe to them but at right around $27 x 2 a panel I knew I could work some magic. |
And magic it was! It is hard to believe this is even the same space! |
I painted the french doors SW Rainwashed. It is a color I had on hand already and have used it on various other doors thru out our home. |
Then I decided I wanted to swap out the door hardware and found these beautiful knobs over at House of Antique Hardware. I ended up choosing the Antique Pewter because they coordinate with the rest of the hardware in our home. I was a little intimidated with changing the hardware out but let me tell you overall it was really easy. Do not get me wrong, it certainly took a few hours since I had never changed out door hardware before but seriously it was so much easier than I thought it would be. I had them swapped out before Mr. Front Porch even got home from work!:) I love how they look and the only downfall is that the screws are super easy to strip if you are not careful and thus I highly suggest you do NOT use a drill to screw them in. Other than that no complaints! If you are wanting to order vintage inspired hardware be sure to SIGN UP for their emails. You will receive a coupon code within 24 hours after signing up! |
Even though this project took a ton of time I am very pleased...no beyond thrilled with how it turned out! Note: House of Antique Hardware provided me with the door knob sets however my opinion of their product is strictly my own and I received no other compensation for this post. Everything else used for this project/reveal was purchased by me.

ReplyDeletepamela, i was at lower today looking at this product for my backsplash. after i left i started looking on pinterest and came across your blog. This wall looks fantastic. I'm curious, do people think its real in person? I'm guessing so but wanted to know for sure. IM deciding between this and veneers. this is more cost effective obviously. any In put would be appreciated.
