How I Found My Style Sundays- c.1934 Trinity Holmes Instagram

From My Front Porch To Yours-How I Found My Style Sundays
I joined Instagram back in the Spring and since then I have been introduced to an entire new world of eye candy. It is a world where people who have a love for decorating but do not blog enjoy sharing their homes. Today I want to introduce you to Trinity Holmes from c.1934 over on Instagram. As soon as I saw a pic of her dining room I was hooked. I knew I had to ask Trinity if she would like to stop by and share her style with us. I was excited when she agreed.

Hi my name is Trinity. My husband, Jason, and I have been married 11 years. We have three children Tatum, Eli and Knox. Jason owns his family business, a welding and radiator shop that has been in business for over 100 years. This has allowed me to be a stay at home mom the past 6 years. We've lived in our home that was built in 1934 for the past two years. I have just begun decorating for others to quench my creative thirst.

I like to think of my decorating style as collected.

It has a strong farm house vibe and I love that but I try not to box myself into one area. I love when I see a room with blended styles done right. It's so warm and inviting. I like it to feel eclectic and organic.

There are staples that I will always have in my house....signs, wicker, pine furniture and plenty of chipping paint.

About six years ago I became more interested in older pieces and well loved furniture and decor.

I was addicted to hunting and finding unique one of a kind pieces to fill my home. And of course I still am. It really has just evolved from there.
Old Church Pew-From My Front Porch To Yours-How I Found My Style Sundays- c.1934 Trinity Holmes Instagram
I would say my most treasured find is an old church pew that sits at the foot of my bed. It was a phenomenal price and it has all the patina, crackling, and alligatored paint that only age can create.

I know it's been said over and over again, and it gets a bit redundant or cliche, but fill your home with the things that YOU love.

It's easy to go on Pinterest and Instagram these days and find something beautiful and think that's what you want to have in your house. The problem I find is that can lead to a room looking mismatched and confusing. You will know when something is truly your taste.

If you see something that moves you, whether it be a piece of furniture, a painting, an old tool box or something as simple as a beautiful plate...buy it. Too many times I have walked away from something like that and have always thought about the "one that got away".

Thank you so much Trinity for stopping by to share with us your home. I look forward to following along with you on Instagram.

  6. Proud to say that Trinity is my sister in law. Grateful that I can pick her brain for decorating ideas. I definitely don't have that skill set so it's nice that someone in the family does!!

  13. I call those left behind items 'I should haves" and I have sworn off them. Now if I see it and can't quite turn away I know it will be one of those so I make sure it comes home with me. I'm told I need a keeper. Beautiful home and lovely items. Wish I could shop there!

  16. Hi Pamela,

What a cool house! I love her mix of rustic pieces and elements in her decor. I also LOVE and want the rattan chairs in her dining room. I waited and waited, debated and debated about buying those from World Market and when I finally made the decision to do it they were on clearance and no longer being sold online. I tried to locate them at a store in a neighboring state (we don't have World Market here) and would have made the drive to pick them up but none of the stores had enough left. I guess, as she said, "the one that got away". Oh well~

Thanks for sharing this awesome house!
