Updated French Farmhouse Breakfast Nook

From My Front Porch To Yours- Updated French Farmhouse Breakfast Nook
I was recently contacted by Inspire Q Furniture and asked if I would be interested in updating a space in our home. Who are Inspire Q Furniture you may be asking? They are the suppliers of Inspire Q and Tribecca Home and have been awarded top supplier over at Overstock.com. After they emailed me their catalog to look thru, I saw some great pieces and was more than happy to team up with them on a product review.

This is our breakfast nook after the kitchen makeover last year. If you missed the kitchen makeover post you can click here. This space holds family treasures such as the kitchen table which was the first piece of furniture I ever worked on over 14 years ago. Then there is the fabulous pie safe that The Papa made for Mr.Front Porch and I as a wedding gift.

For 13 years now we have used the pie safe in the breakfast nook of every home we have lived in. It holds the boys art supplies, puzzles and what not. I am still in love with the pie safe but I was ready for a change.

In comes the Courtland Long Bookcase

As soon as I saw it I knew it was just the piece that I needed for in here.

Even though I moved our beloved pie safe to another area in the house I still wanted to include family treasures in this space.

The milk can is from my PopPop's personal treasure collection. He use to clean out estates when working for the bank in town.

The bottom rolling pin is Mr.Front Porch's Grandma Lillian's.

The bookcase also allows me to display other vintage treasures like this porcelain cow bank.

I snatched this vintage bread box right up after I saw that it still had its original knob and was functional. Plus it was less than $40! At that price it just HAD to come home with me.

The tea cups I found at an antique shop when we were at the beach. I have been wanting to collect ironstone for sometime now and these were the perfect starting pieces.

The bookcase was super easy to put together and I love the rustic wood feel the shelves have.

The Courtland Bookcase is a great piece to own and I know I will enjoy having it in our breakfast nook for years to come. As with any shelving piece it is always best to secure it to the wall especially if you have children or crazy animals that like to jump on things.

***Though I was provided with product to review from Inspire Q Furniture, my thoughts and opinions of the piece are entirely my own.***

  18. Your kitchen redo is decorated so beautifully. I have a personal question you know that when we redo things sometimes there are those will nail marks on the walls. Do you always repaint? Everything looks for perfect.

  31. Oh my goodness - the bookshelf just lightened up the whole room! So gorgeous! I love the way you accessorized with vintage and treasured pieces. Though there is a lot to see, it doesn't look cluttered to me because you kept with the white ironstone and with a theme! Lovely.
