A Little About Me

I was just reminded of a feature post I did for Kris of Junk Chic Cottage and Susan of Must Love Junk back in October. I thought it would be fun to share that post here today for those who are new to the blog.
Hello everybody! My name is Pamela and I blog over at From My Front Porch To Yours. First let me say thank you to Kris and Susan for inviting me over today to visit with them! I am truly honored. I agree with Debbie from Debbiedoos, I am not comfortable talking about myself so this is kinda a reach for me. Anything for my pal Kris!:) Hmmm, let's see I have been blogging for just over 4 years now.
This is me and The Hubster. We have been married for 12 years but have been together for 17. Boy does time fly!
We are from the great state of Georgia. All of our family is still in Georgia and we love going back home to visit and dream about moving back some day possibly.
Right after we were married...literally two days later...we hopped on a plane and moved to Texas. Though heart breaking to leave all we loved and knew behind we can not complain. Texas has been very good to us.
We started our family here and call it home. I can not tell you how very much I love all three of my men! They are truly my world.
We took a 2 year hiatus from Texas and lived in Baton Rouge when Oldest & Littliest were smaller. That is where I grew to love anything French.
This here is our home where all the memories and DIY chaos happens.
This lady right here, she is my mama! Shh, do not tell her I shared this pic with y'all. She would just die.
This is my mama's dining room and well you can see where I get my decorating gene from!;) I have always loved decorating. When I was a kid I would stay up till the wee hours rearranging my room till it was just right.
I love to go shopping which I also get from my mama!;)
I get a huge thrill from thrifting...
and turning my treasures into something grand.
I love to sew. I do not do enough of it but I do love it even though I can not read a pattern to save my life.
When my boys were younger I actually owned a baby boutique business and made bibs, burpies, blankets and what not for extra money to do things we loved. Doing shows for me was a big thrill! As the boys grew older though I became more focused on decorating our home and then decided to sell some of my painted furniture on the side.
I am trying to instill my passion for DIY in my boys.
So far they enjoy helping out and treasure hunting with their mom. I know it may not last but I will take it while I can.
This guy is the guy who makes it all possible. Believe it or not he is actually the one who instigates the larger projects around here!;)
Sophia is our oldest fur baby. She is 12.
Our GQ kitty as I like to call him is 11.
Then last year we added this adorable little lady to the mix after the boys begged for a puppy. She just turned one and thankfully has outgrown most of her puppy phase.
So that is my life in a nutshell. I am currently working on reworking our home from doing a semi kitchen remodel to a living room make over. Be sure to stop on by my place sometime and see just what I am up to next!;)

  3. Pamela,
Glad that I came by today...guess I missed this post last Fall. I didn't know that you did craft shows in the past.

  4. If you need pet sitters next time you travel let me know. I have two boys who would be so excited to get to love on your kitties and puppy!

  5. I love this! Your home is gorgeous and I certainly understand your love for your guys. :) I've been having so many technical issues and have missed visiting around blog land. Oh yes, glad you're in Texas too!

  6. You're such a cutie! Your path and mine are a little similar...as soon as my husband and I married we moved to Oklahoma for 23 years. We are Native Texans and just moved back 2 years ago. We also have two boys and lived away from family while they were growing up. It's hard but sure make your little foursome close. :)

  7. I have you on my bloglist so I don't miss a post. Loved seeing your life in a nutshell.
