I apologize in advance for the poor lighting of the following pictures! The flash was not wanting to work since there was so much natural light in the room. I am so not camera savvy.
I now have the antique shutters hung on the wall. This was a fairly easy and painless project thankfully. |
Ha! I feel your pain on this one...I can never get it right on the first try. It's on the top of my most hated list! Glad you got it finished. : )
ReplyDeleteOh my... just think - you'll look back on this and laugh one day. Kind of like the way I laugh over our dripping shower faucet from many years ago. What should have been a very simple f"no tools needed" project turned horribly wrong when my husband decided to break out the hacksaw. I'll never forget hearing that blade. Next time, I'll call a plumber to start!

That happens to me most often when I'm doing rods, too, Pamela! In fact, I have to do a rod in the living room this week and I'm hoping it goes smoothly. The shutters look great and I'm looking forward to seeing more of this room!
ReplyDeleteHate when that happens. Don't you know the golden rule of not using the flash? Pictures are better without if you have enough lighting in the room. Can't wait to see what you did. Love the shutters.
ReplyDeletePamela don't feel bad, almost every big project that my husband and I work on takes MUCH longer then anticipated! We always run into some type of problem UGH! Martina
ReplyDeletePS- LOVE the shutters!!
ReplyDelete*Any* project that involves drilling holes takes me a lot longer than it should--especially holes for drawer pulls! I never get it right the first time, so I am eternally grateful for wood filler AND spackle.
ReplyDeleteLove the look of your shutters, I hate hanging anything on the wall (100 yr old house walls),I never know what I'm going to get. That's funny though ...I was going to hang curtain rods today ... now I'm afraid to LOL :) Have a great weekend! Francine
ReplyDeleteoh yes - sounds like deja vu! were you peeking in my diary? just kidding :) love those antique shutters combined with lace curtains! that cowboy-romance look is an all time favorite - great job! -diane
ReplyDeleteOh, the joys of hanging rods! LOL. The shutters look amazing, Pamela! I love, love them and can't wait to see more. xo
ReplyDeleteI would say the majority of projects turn out to take more time! Looks like yours is going to be ok though!!
ReplyDeleteI'm horrible about hanging things, so I normally ask my husband for help. Me and the drill just don't go together well. Lol.
