My mom and I were so excited abt our trip to Old Town Spring. It had been years since either of us had been. We always enjoyed all the little shops and oh my the pretties you could find there! Well sadly enough it seems that Old Town Spring has suffered some losses I am sure due to the economy. Some fave shops are no longer there. One shop though that I knew was still there is Metals Petals & More! Oh how I just loved shopping there in the past because they always had the nicest items at such reasonable prices. Well we found this lil' shop which I must say is no longer sooo lil' anymore. It has expanded to two differ locations one of which takes up I would say three of the old buildings.
Look at all of this faux greenery! You could loose a kid in there!;) |
Paintings galore! |
Even a kitty for Littliest! He was so excited to see this lil' friend in the shop. It was actually the second shop to have furry helpers. |
The shop goes on and on and on! It was a far cry from what it use to be. |
Look at all the wrought iron pieces! Puts HobLob to shame! Ha! |
Bling for the soul. |
Gorgeous chandys! |
Stunning candle sticks. |
A room full of bathroom vanities!! |
This one is one of my faves. I hope to have something similar in our half bath one day. |
Dishes that I actually purchased last fall at HomeGoods and eventually took back. They were asking twice as much for them than what I had paid. |
To die for bunny pillow!!! Well over $300! Simply gorgeous though. |
Another stunning pillow that was I think $270. Are you sensing a trend here yet??!! |
Mom fell in love with this candle! Let's flip the tag over shall we. |
We bid farewell to Metals Petals & More empty handed and headed across the street. Part 2 coming soon!:) Linking Up To WoW Us Wednesdays over at Savvy Southern Style. |
Great shop, Pamela. I love the chandy. That would be perfect in my dining room. Those pillows are expensive everywhere and I love them. It is sad how many small businesses are closing shop.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great shop, but I'm with you. No way would I part with nearly 300 bucks for a candle, even if my last name was Gates!
ReplyDeletePamela, I think that shop's little expensive sister shop is in a neighboring town here!!! They have those incredible pillows with the crackledy images and like Kim said, they are expensive everywhere. Believe it or not, I have bought some supplies to try my hand at imitating one as soon as I have some time. Wish I could get $300 a pop for mine!!! : )
ReplyDeleteCan't believe the candle was so expensive!!! Would you dare burn it?
I think not!
Fun post.
Rhonda
Pamela, those are the shops I go in for inspiration ONLY! lol I study the way they display things and then copy it at home for cheap! And Wal-Mart has great candles right?
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see Part 2!

Hi Pam, I know what you mean about favorite shops raising their prices. Kind of makes one a little sick to their tummy, but I still love to window shop. I love this post though.
ReplyDeleteI have been toying with the idea of hosting a blog party called GO-TO TUESDAY, where you all could share those favorite places you GO TO just like you have done in this post. I thought it would be fun to see all those favorite places we all GO TO to get inspiration.
To let me know what you think of my idea for this blog party, hop on over to this post of mine and post your comment. Thanks!

Wow!!!! I think I love everything in that shop!!!! I love the shops style!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Pamela,
ReplyDeleteIt'd be fun to look at that shop, but paying that kind of money for a candle would never work for me either!
They did have some beautiful things. I wonder who can afford it? :)
Pam
Thanks for taking us shopping with you- what a great place! I think all shops should have cat shopkeepers!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pics but I have those Sir Oliver Candles in my home. Walmart has nothing on those candles and they are used as deco pieces. I got great deals on mines and I own 24 candles. If someone can afford it then good for them and trust me there are a lot of women who owns a collection because they love the smell and the look. It's best to shop around like your doing but I have done my homework and I don't shop in Houston or Spring, too pricey. The same items that you most of the high end stores sell I found them cheaper. No Walmart for me honey
