Foyer Chandy Gets New Life

Edited: Joing up with Marty for her Cloche Party! 7/18/11

Ever since I received my herb crates in the mail last week my creativity just started to flow again! This past weekend ideas just kept popping into my head and I had to run with them. The Hubster asked me if I was ever gonna stop! Ha! I worked on displays in the foyer and in our dining room. Today I want to share a little project I did for the dinning room.

Do you remember our old foyer light fixture that came down right after Christmas(click here for that adventure)? I know this is not a great pic but you can get an idea of how it looked hanging up. It was dusty, silver and only one light was left working. It begged to come down. As soon as The Papa had it down I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. So over the weekend I turned our old foyer chandy into something totally different!

How about a huge cloche!!?? I have it sitting in the middle of the dining room table.  I used one of the herb crates  and then one of my fave HomeGoods plates I have had for some time. I hot glued the old silverware to the plate and then added the gingham ribbon to add that extra touch. It sits on a fabric place mat I purchased back in November at The Nutcracker Market.

The top finial was silver and it was not working for me so I took it in the garage and sprayed it with some spray paint I had left over from other chandy projects I have done around the house. It turned out just perfect.

I love the speckled glass! It adds a vintage feel to my new huge cloche! The best thing abt this project is that it was virtually free minus the fact that I had just purchased the set of four herb crates.

Thanx for stopping by! I am linking up to the following linky parties:

Metamorphosis Monday: Between Naps on The Porch
Sunday Showcase Party: Under The Table and Dreaming
