The good, the bad, and just plain ugly!

Sometimes some things are just better off left alone! Wednesday I decided to tackle painting the back door. I had been wanting to do it for sometime now and thought it would be lovely in a blue.

Hmmmm, not so much lovely so I attempted to adjust the color some.

I added in some more blue and again just not feeling it.

Ended up with this and lets just say the good in all of this is the fact that it is just paint and will be painted back to its original white glory very shortly!:)

Linking up to Take A Risk Day over at Nesting Place!

  1. Have to agree, the white is much nicer...I think the problem really lies in the textured finish clashing with pattern on the curtain and then again against the clean white finish of the door frame...Just to much going on in one small area

    Better luck next time.

    Blessings Kelsie

  2. Oh no, and after all that work! Well, at least you'll never wonder again.

  3. Well it might not look awesome in that spot of the house, but you are great w/ that paint technique!

  4. LOL! This was such a great post Pamela because you dared to show something that didn't work out the way you thought it would! Don't hate me, but I kinda like the color in the last pic. :-) I think white is great but I just admire your gumption for trying something new!

  5. Well, you would of never known until you tried right?! I'm always nervous to paint something.

  6. Just stopped by from Oakview Cottage ~ sorry your door didn't turn out, but you would have never known. Now you know White is the colour~ I'm going to follow along ~ LOVE your blog ;-)

  7. I am with everyone get an A for effort! Don't you just hate it when something doesn't turn out as planned...ugh...all of that work!

  8. I like the blue in the 2nd to last picture. I am always so scared to paint anything in case I don't like it better than the original! At least you gave it a shot!

  9. I always never know until you've tried! Bless your heart....that is something I would do. I do like the finish in the last pic and I may be asking how you did that...we are going to redo a table soon...mind sharing what you used?

Oh and thank you for stopping by and leaving a very sweet comment yesterday!

    Have a wonderful weekend,

  10. I liked the blue but I understand about not feeling something. You are right, it is paint so you can always change it. :)

I love when ya stop by so leave me a comment if ya have some time! I always try and respond but sadly enough sometimes I am unable to return the love due to noreply blogger status.
