Treasure Hunt Thursday #85 & Highlights

Welcome to THT everybody! Happy 12/12/12 day!:) I hope that your week is going well. I know things are rather crazy with the holidays upon us. I can not believe we are less than two weeks out before Christmas. We had a fabulous turn out last week! I can't thank you enough for taking the time to party at my place! I saw a TON of mantels while browsing all the links.
If you linked up your mantle to THT last week and get a chance be sure to link it up to the mantel party so that readers can view all the holiday mantels in one place!:) The mantel party will stay open till midnight on the 31st.

Now on to my picks from last weeks party. It is always so hard to choose.

Debra over at Common Ground shared with us how she accomplished her faux chalkboard!
Christy over at Our Southern Home showed us her amazing Christmas mantel.
Sonny from 155 Dream Lane shared her gorgeous foyer all decked out for the holidays.
And the gals over at Be Book Bound shared with us ideas on wrapping all those gifts we bought and are dreading pulling out.
As always thank you to all who partied last week! I am so truly honored to have such talent partying at my place! If you were featured please feel free to grab the "I've Been Featured" button!:) I have the newly updated button with html code on my sidebar!

What would be a HUGE help and encourage more comments not just from me but others as well would be for everybody to take off their required verification codes for leaving a comment. This seems to take just a few seconds of time but when you have to do it on 30 or more blogs it takes up a TON of time. Last week most everybody had turned off their Word Verification which made it so much easier for me to stop by everybody's links! Thank you!

READ THE RULES PLEASE!:)
Now on to this weeks party!
As with all parties there are the normal rules. You must link back to From My Front Porch To Yours in your THT POST. Just common courtesy. If ya don't link back ya don't get to party. Only link up to your Treasure Hunt Thursday post and NOT your blog homepage. Please No advertising and PLEASE NO MORE than 3 links from the SAME party goer. Also NO MORE linking up to your own link parties. I am seeing more and more link ups of just people promoting their own linky parties. I know it takes time to go back and make a separate post to join the party but it is just the polite thing to do. If you find your post deleted it is not because I am a meany, I just have to make sure the rules are being followed. You can save some of your posts for the following weeks party! Please only link up new posts and not posts that you linked up the week before.

Also be sure to visit at least the link before you and after you to just say Hi! It makes partying all the more fun and remember if your link has had the most visits you will get featured on Tuesdays! If you are new around here I would love it if ya become a follower!:)

Half Bathroom Reveal

Our half bath remodel is finally 99% completed! I was so excited to show y'all how it turned out after a little over 3 months of pulling it all together.
Before I share the new half bath here are a few pics of how it looked before hand.
The sink has been something I wanted to change out since we moved in. With small kiddos those pointy edges are not kind and I can not tell you how many tears were shed from the boys hitting them. If you would like to see more of the half bath before you can click on over to here.

Welcome to our new and improved half bath! Be prepared for MAJOR picture overload.
This is a tiny space and I honestly thought I would have issues getting good pictures for y'all so I was surprised when I saw they came out pretty well.
Rug from Target.
Shelving I made and just love. As matter of fact I have plans on making some more for our laundry room which I am in the midst of redoing. They are super simple to make and are such a great impact for very little cost.
I decided since it is the holidays I was just going to go ahead and decorate in here for the season.

Vintage turquoise Ball canning jars I purchased back in June while we were in Peridido Key,Fl.
I added some sentimental pieces to this space like this funny pic of my PopPop sitting outside on the toilet. Mom says he was quite a jokester and I had always loved this pic so I knew I had to display it in here. No worries he has his boxers on!;) They lived in The Pocono Mtns. Can you imagine having to go out there in the freezing cold and snow to take care of business!!?? So glad we have come far from that.
Another sentimental piece is this little pendulum clock that my husband's Grandma Lillian gave me. She was an avid Big Lots shopper and always had goodies tucked away. She sent this out to me with The Nana a few years back. I don't think she knew how much I would adore it!

Here is the other view into the half bath.

I took the builder grade towel holder down because it was hung way to high and the boys never could reach it. We would always just put the towel on the door handle. To take care of that I found this awesome vintage ladder like thing back in November when out antiquing with my mama. As soon as I saw it I knew it was perfect.
I love its rustic chippy goodness.
Here is where the major changes happened. The light fixture was switched out to this old school style with milk glass globes. I took down the builder grade mirror and replaced it with this vintage mirror I bought for just $10!
I love its time worn beauty.
Next up is my piece of resistance! Our original plan was to use the faucet from the old sink but it was saudered on for some reason so unexpectedly we had to hunt down a new faucet. We went to the big box stores and could not agree on anything. It was either not the right look or cost too much. None of the ones that cost too much made me want to spend my money on them so home we came and I started my search online. I had found two options on O.co and though this one was the pricey one in the end I knew it was the one. I waited a few weeks while saving up the money for it praying it would not sell out. Thankfully by the time I had enough it was still there. It was meant to be!:)
Of course we changed out the sink. I had been eyeing this sink for almost two years now. I knew as soon The Hubster agreed to me starting this project that this was the sink for in here.
I have to share this cute soap dispenser that The Hubster's cousin Tina made for us. It was a Pinterest project she found and it came out great. I just adore it!

So there ya have our half bath makeover! It took a a bit longer than I had hoped but I had to do it a little at a time. It also cost a tad more than I had hoped but that is always what happens when you do a remodel of sorts. Speaking of which remember how I said the bath is 99% complete? Well the other 1% is going to cost us/me $100 to finish and once I get over being irritated I will call the plumber in to remedy the situation. Ends up that our water lines are too short to reach the faucet so our pretty new sink does not work yet. We have some type of stupid water line system that requires a crimping tool to cut off the lines and attach the extensions. I have been told it takes literally all of 5 minutes to do so you can see why I am irked that it will cost $100. I am hoping that I can find somebody to do it for far less. In the meantime though I have been known to just go and sit down in here and ponder life and what project I am going to start on next. Toilet closed of course!;)

Thanx for stopping by and lasting thru all of my reveal!:)

I am linking up to the following linky parties:

Holiday On The Landing

I have to say that our stair landing was one of the easiest things to pull together this holiday season. It is nothing fussy just simple and understated. I wish I could have gotten better pics but after my third attempt this was as good as they were getting. It was pretty much overcast all this past week.

I am 99% done with decking the halls. I could do more but I have decided that I am done fussing with it all and am just going to sit back and enjoy the rest of the season. I have a few more reveals to share so be sure to stop back by soon!:)

Also don't forget that the 2nd Annual Holiday Mantel Party is going on right now. It will remain open till midnight Dec 31 so no worries if you aren't quite done with yours yet.
