It Really Works!!

A few days ago I stumbled upon Laurie's French Flower Pot project! If you have not seen her incredible pots you must head over because I know they will inspire you as well! I will admit I was a tad skeptical that her technique involving just paper and Mod Podge was actually going to work but again her pots turned out amazing so I decided I had to give it a try!

Remember my caddy I found at HomeGoods a few weeks back? Yep, it needed some umph so I figured why not try Laurie's technique!

I already had everything on hand so I had nothing loose! No money wasted if it did not turn out as I had hoped.  I printed my image that I got off The Graphics Fairy site. I think I ended up choosing the exact same one that Laurie used but that was not intentional by any means. It just happened to be the only image I thought would look right on the caddy. I followed Laurie's direction and darkened the image just a tad using my Picnik account. It is free to sign up so no worries. It is a wonderful tool for us bloggers!

Next I flipped the image which was easy to do in my printer settings and printed it out. Then I trimmed it to size. Next out came the Mod Podge. I coated the image as instructed to do so. You want to coat the ink portion that printed out.

When centering the image and pressing it down I accidentally ripped the one side off but thankfully I was able to easily remove my Oops and started over. So be careful!

Attempt #2 went much better! Now I am NOT as patient as Laurie and so I did not wait an entire night for it to dry.

A few hours later after taking the hair dryer to it just to make sure it was indeed dry I dampened the image with just a moist paper towel. It needs to have enough water in it to squeeze a little here and there.

After wetting it down I started the tedious process of LIGHTLY rubbing my wet finger over the paper removing the layers as instructed. I could NOT believe it this was actually working!! Here is a tip though-DO NOT trim your paper down so close to the image. Leave ya some room because you could potentially rubbed off the edge of the image. Yep, been there but in the end all was good.

Here is the finished project!

I just LOVE how it turned out and am sooo grateful that Laurie took the time out to show us how she accomplished this technique of image transfer! Thank you Laurie!
I loved this process so much that I have my next victim all lined up! Stay tuned!

Before I go, I thought I would also share that I found the cutest wire caddy for my antique silverware last week! Can you guess where I found it!? Yep, my most fave place in the entire world-HomeGoods!;)

Hope your weekend is going well! Many prayers going up for those on the east coast.

Treasure Hunt Thursday #20!!

I am here ladies! Just a little behind. Today has been a busy non stop day for me and now I am trying to beat a thunder storm heading this way. Afraid the power may go out. It has flickered a few times now. So I will make this short and sweet!
Welcome to Treasure Hunt Thursday #20!! Can you believe it is # 20 already!! I sure can't!
This week my treasures are not all that exciting. I picked up a few items to update and sell.
This are my grand treasures for the week! Not one but TWO twin Ethan Allen beds! I have several directions I am thinking of going with them. One is to paint them white and distress then hand paint Always Kiss Me Good Night on the head board! Let me know what ya think!?:)

This is my second treasure. Still trying to figure out exactly what to do with it. I have so many color stories running around in my head that it is hard for me to choose.

If you have not checked in on THT # 19 Highlights be sure to see if you were featured! Y'all are a bunch of talented treasure hunters that truly inspire me! So with that being said show me what ya got this week!

As with all parties there are the normal rules. You must link back to From My Front Porch To Yours. Just common courtesy. Only link up to your Treasure Hunt Thursday post and NOT your blog homepage. Please no advertising. Also be sure to visit at least the link before you and after you to just say Hi! It makes partying all the more

Treasure Hunt Thursday #19 Highlights!!

Happy Hump Day y'all! I can NOT believe it is Wednesday already! It has been a busy week thus far with the boys BOTH back in school now. Oldest came home yesterday and told me that school was much better than sitting at home all day watching t.v. and playing video games! I am so glad he enjoys school so much and I hope it continues for him! The Hubster says he got it from him. I never disliked school when I was younger but I certainly never looked forward to it the way Oldest does.

Anyways let's get on to THT Highlights shall we!? We had a great turn out last week with 18 party goers! Thanx ladies! I hope we continue to grow and get larger! The more the merrier! I have been super busy and have yet been able to create an "I've Been Featured Button" but I promise it is coming soon!:) For now please feel free to grab my regular button or the THT button and use it till I get one up. There were so many great finds from last week that it was hard to pick just three!

Did y'all see Catherina's Scandinavian Bed redo!!?? It is gorgeous! It probably is a good thing we only have boys!Ha!

Fit for a queen is right! Check out this awesome bench Flea Market Lynn found! It is just dreamy!

And last but certainly NOT least is this awesome hutch redone by Patricia Ann! Love how she added the date she was married at the bottom of the Fleur de lis design!

Thanx again for linking up last week ladies and I hope to see y'all later this evening for Treasure Hunt Thursday #20!! Now I must get off and get ready for work!:0 Have a good one and see ya this evening!

Needed a good laugh!

Fighting back tears after making the boys lunch for tomorrow. Had a friend share this with me. Hysterical and just what I needed so I thought I would share with y'all! To watch just go down and turn the music player off on my side bar. I know a pain but trust me worth it!

Hope your weekend was a grand one!
