Sneak Peek

Been a busy week trying to get the boys ready for back to school on Monday! It is hard to believe that summer is already over. This evening we went to Panther Camp...aka Open House...and met the boys teachers. The past two years we have been so blessed to have had two rocking teachers! Their pride in teaching and desire to make learning fun was quite apparent the moment you walked into their class rooms. This year not so much on the apparent side though both teachers seem very nice.
Littliest will be going to  Kindergarten and lets just say he might as well be attending class in a cement box. It was literally that exciting y'all! I almost wanted to cry. There was not one fun thing about his class room what so ever and I just think that is a tragedy. Kids that age already have such a hard time leaving their mama's that they need to have a fun and exciting room to great them every day. I think I may just  have to sneak in there one day and do some decorating y'all!;)

On a differ note today instead of heading out to HobLob to get a few things I needed I worked on finishing up the new armoire.

I am 98.9% completed. I am thinking I may be changing the inside color so you will have to just wait for the big reveal!:)
Last but not least wish me luck for tomorrow! It is my first day on the job at The Old Oak Cottage! I know it will be fun but it will be so different. I have not worked outside the home in 7 years y'all! Yikes! I am truly blessed though because I do not think I could have found a better part time job! Thanx Marci for the opportunity!
Hope y'all have a fabulous weekend! Enjoy your family and friends and stay cool! The car read 100 at 7:45 pm!! Please Fall find your way to us soon!!
Also before I forget thanx for all the Anniversary well wishes!! Y'all rock!

Treasures of a lifetime

August 18,2001 we began a journey of a lifetime. Two days after we were married we moved half way across the country from our family and friends.

Two and half years later we started our own family.

21 months later our family of three grew to a family of four.

Every day I thank the Lord above for you and our boys.

Every day I am reminded how truly lucky and blessed I am.

You are the best daddy and husband we could ever ask for. You make all of our dreams come true!

You make me laugh and you make me cry and though at times we may not like each other one thing is for sure we will always love each other!

Here is to the next ten years! I love you always & forever Boo Bear!!

Treasure Hunt Thursday #19!!

Welcome to Treasure Hunt Thursday #19! Thank you to all who partied with us last week! We had another great  turn out. I am hoping this party only grows larger every week so be sure to invite all your friends over to have fun with us! I truly love seeing all the great things you have found! As promised I even made sure to do the THT Highlight post! If you have not seen it be sure to see if you were high lighted!

This week I lucked up on a box of antique silver wear! I think there is 10 of most pieces in there. Last night I researched the origin and found out that they are from 1959.

I think the design is just darling and I was super excited because I have been wanting some old silver wear to decorate with but they have always been so pricey. I got this entire lot for just $5!

Next up is my grand find for the week! It is not an actual antique but still just as divine! I think the production date on the back is 1996. That is the year Th Hubster and I started dating!:) (Speaking of which you may have noticed I changed my music out. No worries it is only for a few days. It is in honor of our anniversary tomorrow!)

This mirror is pretty large and I think a great steal at just $25! I am not sure if I will be painting it or not though I  have found some wonderful inspirations if I do decided to go that route. Not sure where it is going yet either. Maybe in the new guest suite or even our master.

As with all parties there are the normal rules. You must link back to From My Front Porch To Yours. Just common courtesy. Only link up to your Treasure Hunt Thursday post and NOT your blog homepage. Please no advertising. Also be sure to visit at least the link before you and after you to just say Hi! It makes partying all the more fun!:)

Black Forest Ham, Cookie Dough, & Chalk Paint

Bet ya never thought you would see those three mentioned at the same time, uh!? I love using the plastic containers for my paint projects! It is a great way to recycle and save money. A win win. The thing I like best abt the deli containers are that they have a see thru top. Makes things easy enough. So this is why I have been MIA. Between the boys, getting ready for school which begins in T-8 days, and yard work I managed to  squeeze in working on my armoire.

My custom color of  Chateau Gray and Old White. Notice the  plastic knife, it makes a wonderful stirrer!

Sneak peek at where I am at right now. If I had not worked out side in 101 degree heat for three hours doing yard work today I would so be working on it some more. I am beat!  It won't take much though to finish so I am getting excited!

Can't decide if I want to continue with putting patina on the doors or not. Hmmm.....

On a differ note I probably won't be around much this week due to it being the  last week I have with both my boys. Littliest starts kindergarten this year and lets just say I will be having a mini/major melt down any day now. We went in for pre-screening and I was already tearing up!:(

Hope your weekend was a grand one!
