Infomercials

Infomercials, I generally do NOT watch them and the funny thing is is that my fam and I every week watched Pitchmen on Discovery. My boys loved Billy Mayes and now every time we go out and abt and they see his picture or a product that he pitched they go crazy. Makes walking thru Wally World a real treat. HA!

Some things that I have purchased because of an Infomercial are the George Foreman Grill. Still have it but do not use it though great. Rather use the grill outside. Speaking of which I need to sell it on the local site. Um what else....the Magic Bullet. The kiddos and Hubster purchased that for me for Mothers Day. Not because of the infomercial but because of a cookbook that recommended it. So far not impressed. We have tried making smoothies. Does not really crush the ice all that well. We purchased Mighty Putty and sorry Billy but it does NOT work and makes your hands STINK!! I think those are the only actual products we have purchased.

Then there is the fitness arena of infomercials. Back after oldest was born my BFF told me about Power 90 and so we ordered it after watching the YouTube infomercial for it. Let me say it DOES work if you stick with it. It was a bit intense though at times and not for beginners. I lost 15 pounds doing it and walking without changing my eating habits or taking their magic pills. If I had only stuck with it and gave up a few things. Life is short though and I LOVE fruit and cheese and popcorn. HA! I ordered The Firm last year and it was working as well. Lost 10 pounds on it but was unable to stick to it because of life in general and no ME time. I was very discouraged by that. No support from the fam was a major issue.

Now on to the newest purchase. Last night at 1 am I was attempting sleep by flipping thru the channels looking for Wendy ( will chat about her in a differ post) and I stopped on the infomercial for Slim 6. I only watched about 2 minutes of it and was hey that would work for me. The exercises looked very slow paced but strenuous which is what I liked the most. With The Firm they tend to go to fast for me and I miss out. So I hopped on the Apple and researched it and found no negative reviews on it which did not surprise me due to the fact it is from the Power 90 people. So I ordered it.

Now do I expect to totally transform my body in 6 weeks? No but I do expect to be healthier and more happy in 6 weeks. When will my 6 weeks start? Well my kiddos will be starting school in 3 weeks so I will have plenty of ME time while all the men are out of my house. So I am putting myself kinda out there to ya all. I am NOT taking pics for ya to see but I will keep ya updated on how it is going and what it is like compared to other work out series I have done.

I will share with you that transforming this body ain't gonna be easy ya all. It is a struggle I have always delt with this struggle and I pray constantly about it. Part of my problem is the fact that even when I was NOT fat I thought that I was. I think that is a common problem with most of us. Now that I am fluffier though there is more to love I do not love myself and I want to change that. Tears have been shed many times and I knew once we moved back "home" I was going to get into gear and get this butt smaller. I will NEVER be a size 6 because I can not even remember ever being a size 6 but I do want to be able to go to the store and buy all those cute clothes out there. I do want to LOVE myself and the way that I look. So join me on my struggle to be a better mommy, a better wife, and over all just a better me.

Have you purchased anything after watching an Infomercial? What are some of your favorite products??

P.s I forgot, I also have purchased and swear by Bare Minerals! This is one of the best products out there! I had seen the infomercial on it and never thought anything abt it. Back at the beginning of the year I finally decided to try some new makeup, well I was actually going to go back to using Clinique which I had used for years before kids. My face had gotten oily and makeup felt caked on. I hated the feeling. So one day I decided to go into Sephora to look around and buy some Clinique. I saw the Bare Minerals and the sales lady said I could try it and if I did not like it I could return it no questions asked. So I did and loved it. I buy the $60 set every time and it lasts me abt 3 months. I use two color foundations from the medium box so I really did not want to spend $50 on two foundations and with the $60 box you get new brushes so it works out nicely. I also use their powder eyeliner. As for the Sephora return policy, its true! I purchased some face wash that I HATED and took it back a week later and they refunded me with a smile!

Wednesday

Happy Wednesday ya all! Hope the week is going well for everybody. Nothing much up here really. I worked on a few orders and shipped them off. My sewing machine needs servicing. Not what I want to spend $100 on that is for sure. It has been a year and a half though since I last took it in. The guy in BR was just too creepy for me to go back to. That and he said both when I dropped my machine off and when I picked it up what a piece of crap it was but in other words if you could even imagine!! So I boycotted that place and now since we are back in Houston I can go to my old place.

Today the boys and I went to Khols and picked up a few things. Then we went to Home Goods. I mean I could literally spend hours in there. They were putting out the Halloween items. I purchased a long wooden sign and then a wooden Boo sign. I also got a little plate that says "Life Is Uncertain. Eat Dessert First" and a plate holder. I thought it was super cute for the kitchen. I sooo wanted one of their large platters that I have been looking at for months. They are anywhere from $9.99-$19.99. I loved the blue and am wanting to do the dinning room in blue but if I paint the walls a robins egg blue in there than I would need a white platter. They had a pretty green one as well I could use for the kitchen but I put it back too. I was going to make them into chalk boards. I still may go back there and get one because there was only one of either left.

Just finished up dinner. The boys were "those" children again at the store so we are forgoing feeding the fish and turtles up at the so called lake. They both need hair cuts something terrible. I think I will tackle that this evening and then send um off to bed. I sooo wish they would just go and get their hair cut with the hubster bit I guess since I have been chopping on it since they were babies I did myself in. Oldest told me that he will always only have me cut his hair and that he will buy a house next to me so he can ensure that I can still cut his hair. HA! The minds of 5 yr olds. It is not that I mind doing it. What I mind is the mess afterwards. At the old nest if it was nice outside we would go and do it on the patio. Not really feeling it right now since it is still like 98 outside.
Can I tell ya all what I HATE most abt moving!? I can not stand all of the calls we keep getting. They account for probably 90% of all of our calls. I put us on the do not call list but that takes awhile. The only reason I bring it up is because Air Aspen just called. I did not answer. Then they called back not even two minutes later. URGH!
Have a good one!

Hi. My name is Pamela and I am ...

Hey ya all! Hope your weekend was a good one! We had some pretty good "daddy days" as we like to call them around here. This is the last week the hubster (just made that up and kinda like it, maybe it will stick) will be MIA during the week and we are just thrilled to pieces. Once he is back home every day this house will actually start feeling like a home. Anyways, we just hung out and ran around town some. Our new dining room chairs arrived. Will talk more abt that in a moment. The hubster (yeah I do like that) came to a realization over the weekend. He is not sure what to do abt it but he thinks something must be done. I think not then again those with addictions never think they have a problem. He calls all of my blogging mommy decorating inspiration sites crack. Can you believe that!? Crack!!!HA!! So maybe I spend a little too much time looking for ideas and daydreaming when I could be say folding clothes..no wait I do that...or reading to my kids...no I do that as well...cleaning the dishes...no I most of the time do that. So really do I have a problem!? I think not! Okay so I am a little obsessive but that's alright. It could be soo much worse. My name is Pamela and I am a...what would you even call it?? I will have to think on that one and get back to ya all.
Still have not narrowed down a paint color. I am thinking of just going for it and painting a room in TR. I am having issues with my beloved living room fab that I just had to have and that the hubster spent $200 on the day before we actually moved here. I thought the plaid looked more Burgundy but now that it is up it looks more pinkish. Not a good thing. I was not trying to go Eastery all year round. So maybe once I get back into the groove of making my bibs and what not I can make a little extra cash and be able to buy fab and have revolving mistreatments. If I buy it then the hubster can't really complain right!? I read a while back a site had faux silk for like $6 a yard. Missed out on that one but at the time we still had no idea what our new nest would look like.
While browsing the web this weekend I found this pic of a kitchen that I love. It spoke to me. I did not show the hubster because I know he would say that the wall color is exactly like our previous kitchen and it very well may be. The cabinets are the exact same color as ours here at the new nest. I will be painting the legs of our butcher block island black and refurbishing the legs on our kitchen table in black. The only thing is is that I doubt the wall color would look good with TR next to it. But I think TR would nice on the walls in there as well.

I found this tonight after I put my boys down early. Well maybe not early but much earlier than they have been going down. I figured since K-5 is less than 4 weeks away we needed to start getting into a routine again and going to bed as close to nine as possible so when it comes time for school bed at 8 won't seem so bad. Anyways, don't ya just love this fab for the kitchen!!?? I actually happened upon it looking for fab to make pillows for the living room. I actually think it may be the same fab one of my inspiration bloggers has in her kitchen. I will have to peek back at her kitchen tour to be sure. It would look great with TR!

Back to the arrival of the dinning room chairs! They came Friday and I just had to put them together. These here are what spawned my love for the chairs that we purchased. Pottery Barn has some wonderful furniture but not so wonderful prices. The side chair is $299 and the side chair with arms is a whopping $399!! Well for just $400 we purchased two side chairs and two side chairs with arms from here and free shipping! I can't figure out how to borrow the pic so ya gotta click to see um. Now don't they look almost identical!!
Today I got all excited because me and the boys went to one of my old fave fabric shops here Its A Stitch. It is more of a quilting shop but I find some good finds from time to time. Today I found these cuties! It definitely put me in the mood to sew some! I can just see the cutest darn bibs ever in these fabs can't you!?

Well I rambled on enough and I actually have some bibs calling to me to cut um out so I can actually sew in the morning and get a few orders out. Have a good one ya all!
P.s Spellcheck does not like "hubster". Ha!
P.s.s. Can I use the word "actually" any more than I already do!HA!
