Weigh In Wednesdays #8- Desserts

Welcome to Weigh IN Wednesdays #8! Wow, I can't believe it has been two months since I started this series. Time sure does fly! This week I am focusing on healthy delicious dessert options. Everybody loves dessert and we are no exception over here at our house. So here are a few calorie friendly desserts we enjoy having.

LOVE LOVE LOVE these not only for dessert but really anytime of day. They are super yummy and super easy to make. The boys bought me a Magic Bullet one year for Mothers Day and so clean up is even quick! Yoplait  has new flavors out that I can not wait to try! We usually buy just the Triple Berry in the economy size at Costco.

Another super yummy treat that even The Hubster requests from time to time is  frozen yogurt pie! Here is the recipe for the regular version but it is easily adaptable. Just buy low fat yogurt in any flavor you like, as well as the low cal cool whip which is just as yummy and then the low cal graham cracker crust and you are good to go!

Another fave among the boys and I is Hungry Girl's Peanut Butter Fudge! You can click here to get the recipe!

For deserts you can just get out of the freezer and not have to worry abt cleaning up from we like Blue Bells No Sugar Added Crunch Bars and also Dreyers Frozen Fruit Bars which come in several differ flavors.

So what guilt free desserts do you enjoy? If you have made a post to participate in WIW please let me know so I can add ya to the list!

Weigh In Wednesdays #5

Yep looks super yummy uh!? Well unfortunately I had a few too many pieces of Peanut Butter Pie while on vaca and gained 5 pounds!!! It was more than just the pie. We ate out dinner every night and we snacked after dinner too. Both not good combinations. I also had a few too many Diet soft drinks! I won't beat myself up terribly over them because now that we are back home I can easily get those 5 pounds off in the next week or so.
With it being summer we will be heading to the pool everyday which is wonderful exercise and to top it off we walk to the pool though there is some whining involved. So sad to bad I tell um. The grass needs cutting as well and that is always a great work out. So yep I think I can shed those again fairly easily.

With it being 100 out most days around here it is time to bust out the workout DVDs. I already have Slim in 6 but I am on the hunt for some Richard Simmons DVD sets as well. Nobody seems to sell them locally but I am so wanting his Disco one. He makes working out fun. The boys think he's crazy!:) The Hubster thinks I am crazy for wanting them!;)

My New Adventure

For Valentines Day we did not go out and do a romantic dinner and movie. We did not exchange cards. I did not receive a new piece of jewelry. We went to Costco that day and The Hubster bought me this so I guess really he did buy me a card!Ha! There was a coupon so that made it even better.

This is my new adventure. The adventure that has taken up most of my thoughts and time this week. Even after having to go all the way back across town to Costco because nobody told us they needed to give us the card I still had fun ordering my food.

Had much moral support in the process. For some reason both furry children were up on the desk. I guess they wanted to cheer me on and say yes mom you can do it!:)

This came 10 LONG days later. I had read reviews where some received their food in only 4 days and some 10. I was prepared to wait but had wished it would have come sooner.

Oldest and Littliest helped open the box and sort thru it. It weighed as much as Littliest at 34 pounds!

Had to reorganize the pantry and ended up taking over an entire cabinet to keep things organized. Thankfully we have the cabinet space with some fudging.

Thursday was Day 1. I picked this for breakfast. I was not sure what I was going to find once opened. I was scared!

Things were looking up and after 10 secs in the micro it was pretty darn tasty!

Ahhh, lunch. Another not so sure.

I HAD to add parm. You can not have Italian without some parm! I ended up being very pleased with lunch as well!

Now afternoon snack. These were super yummy too!

Day 1 went well I think as far as food goes. Dinner was not my fave but edible. I had some mushroom risotto or something. Now that I have completed Day 2 I have to say I am liking my new adventure thus far. All my foods today were super yummy and with the add ins of fruit and veggies I have been eating more than I ever have!
I refer to this as my NEW adventure but in reality is not a NEW adventure for me but one I have been on most of my teen/adult life. I have tried doing this alone but I NEEDED a boost. I know, I know...mom...that their are stories out there about once people are off the plan they just gain it all back and then some but I am determined to make this work!
Don't worry this will not become a blog just about weight loss but if you are on this journey as well please lets share! If you have done Nutrisystem or are currently doing it let me know! I would love to compare notes and cheer each other on. I will continue to post about my adventure in achieving a healthier me along with my other passions. I figured seeing as I was making over rooms and what not it was high time to work on me too!
Now that I have most things figured out as far as scheduling and what not I will be back to regular posting!:) I just downloaded a ton of pics. I even have some of our "snow" the other day so be sure to check back.
Have a wonderful weekend ya'll!

Infomercials

Infomercials, I generally do NOT watch them and the funny thing is is that my fam and I every week watched Pitchmen on Discovery. My boys loved Billy Mayes and now every time we go out and abt and they see his picture or a product that he pitched they go crazy. Makes walking thru Wally World a real treat. HA!

Some things that I have purchased because of an Infomercial are the George Foreman Grill. Still have it but do not use it though great. Rather use the grill outside. Speaking of which I need to sell it on the local site. Um what else....the Magic Bullet. The kiddos and Hubster purchased that for me for Mothers Day. Not because of the infomercial but because of a cookbook that recommended it. So far not impressed. We have tried making smoothies. Does not really crush the ice all that well. We purchased Mighty Putty and sorry Billy but it does NOT work and makes your hands STINK!! I think those are the only actual products we have purchased.

Then there is the fitness arena of infomercials. Back after oldest was born my BFF told me about Power 90 and so we ordered it after watching the YouTube infomercial for it. Let me say it DOES work if you stick with it. It was a bit intense though at times and not for beginners. I lost 15 pounds doing it and walking without changing my eating habits or taking their magic pills. If I had only stuck with it and gave up a few things. Life is short though and I LOVE fruit and cheese and popcorn. HA! I ordered The Firm last year and it was working as well. Lost 10 pounds on it but was unable to stick to it because of life in general and no ME time. I was very discouraged by that. No support from the fam was a major issue.

Now on to the newest purchase. Last night at 1 am I was attempting sleep by flipping thru the channels looking for Wendy ( will chat about her in a differ post) and I stopped on the infomercial for Slim 6. I only watched about 2 minutes of it and was hey that would work for me. The exercises looked very slow paced but strenuous which is what I liked the most. With The Firm they tend to go to fast for me and I miss out. So I hopped on the Apple and researched it and found no negative reviews on it which did not surprise me due to the fact it is from the Power 90 people. So I ordered it.

Now do I expect to totally transform my body in 6 weeks? No but I do expect to be healthier and more happy in 6 weeks. When will my 6 weeks start? Well my kiddos will be starting school in 3 weeks so I will have plenty of ME time while all the men are out of my house. So I am putting myself kinda out there to ya all. I am NOT taking pics for ya to see but I will keep ya updated on how it is going and what it is like compared to other work out series I have done.

I will share with you that transforming this body ain't gonna be easy ya all. It is a struggle I have always delt with this struggle and I pray constantly about it. Part of my problem is the fact that even when I was NOT fat I thought that I was. I think that is a common problem with most of us. Now that I am fluffier though there is more to love I do not love myself and I want to change that. Tears have been shed many times and I knew once we moved back "home" I was going to get into gear and get this butt smaller. I will NEVER be a size 6 because I can not even remember ever being a size 6 but I do want to be able to go to the store and buy all those cute clothes out there. I do want to LOVE myself and the way that I look. So join me on my struggle to be a better mommy, a better wife, and over all just a better me.

Have you purchased anything after watching an Infomercial? What are some of your favorite products??

P.s I forgot, I also have purchased and swear by Bare Minerals! This is one of the best products out there! I had seen the infomercial on it and never thought anything abt it. Back at the beginning of the year I finally decided to try some new makeup, well I was actually going to go back to using Clinique which I had used for years before kids. My face had gotten oily and makeup felt caked on. I hated the feeling. So one day I decided to go into Sephora to look around and buy some Clinique. I saw the Bare Minerals and the sales lady said I could try it and if I did not like it I could return it no questions asked. So I did and loved it. I buy the $60 set every time and it lasts me abt 3 months. I use two color foundations from the medium box so I really did not want to spend $50 on two foundations and with the $60 box you get new brushes so it works out nicely. I also use their powder eyeliner. As for the Sephora return policy, its true! I purchased some face wash that I HATED and took it back a week later and they refunded me with a smile!
