I keep getting asked to see more of our new home. We have been here almost 9 months now and I know that I have not shared much of it. It has been a slow process getting it to the way I want it to be. I am not one who can move in and instantly have everything perfect. I mull things over probably a little more than necessary. I also work on more than one space at a time which drives Mr. Front Porch crazy but hey in the end it is well worth it I think.
Today I am finally ready to reveal our dining room. |
Here we are today and I have to say this space is one of my favorites in our home thus far.The main pieces staid the same but I did bring in new seating. The boys are older now..13 and 11 sigh...so the bench seating was no longer needed. You can read more about the seating and the new board and batten wainscoting here in my previous post. I also painted the space which makes a world of difference on how bright and airy it feels. You can see how dark the original color actually was if you look by the pantry door. I have not finished painting the kitchen just yet. LOL. |
My Santos Cage Doll found a home in the dining room as well. I was excited to come across the vintage crate while on vacation. I knew it was the perfect piece for her to stand upon. |
Can you guess what might be my most favorite thing in our dining room? |
The wicker chairs may be getting a makeover later down the road but for now they are just fine. |
Of course I could not leave y'all without sharing a pic of my trusty assistant. She is just the sweetest thing in the world! Hope that the reveal was worth the wait. Here is the link to our old dining room. Which one do you prefer? We are currently finishing up our kitchen and I tell ya it makes me smile from ear to ear when I look at it! Stay tuned. Sharing at these wonderful blogs- Savvy Southern Style |
I Absolutely Love what you have done...it looks wonderful, light and airy....I have a question though..why have you left the doors in the China Cabnet unpainted ? I think they would look wonderful painted, or even without them....just my thoughts, not being critical, just curious:-)
ReplyDeleteI decided not to paint the doors or the top of the buffet because I like the contrast. If they were painted it would all just blend in together. It deserved to stand out. Thank you for visiting and your kind comments!
DeleteSo beautiful! Love that rug and the huge dough bowl!
ReplyDeleteThank you sweet Linsey! Can't wait till you move back so we can get into some trouble together.
DeleteYour touches to the dining room make it truly yours. It looks great!
ReplyDeleteThank you Penny! I try to make it unique to me but sometimes it is hard.
DeleteStunning! I am in the process of creating a similar space, so thankyou for the inspiration. Your slipcovers are divine, but it's your chandelier that speaks to my heart! Mimi xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you Mimi. The chandelier is from Pottery Barn. They carry two different sizes.
DeletePamela, your dining room is just beautiful. I also love the slipcovers, such a pretty fabric. It was worth your wait, to get it the way you wanted it!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam! You re always so kind.
DeleteLooks great!
ReplyDeleteThanks a bunch!
DeleteBeautiful! would you please share the paint color that you used ?
ReplyDeleteThank you. The dining room color is Sherwin Williams Mindful Gray. I wanted a few shades darker than the rest of our common areas that I am in the process of painting Agreeable Gray.
DeleteLove it, such a pretty room.
ReplyDeleteThank you Marty! Hope your week is going well. I am sure you are getting good use out of that new pool. We no longer miss our old house but we sure are missing that pool.
DeleteI absolutely love this dining room, from the blue upholstered chairs, to the gorgeous arrangement you made in the dough bowl. You have so much talent as a creative person and stylist. I want to see MORE of your new home!
ReplyDeleteAnd by the way...I work wherever I'm inspired, often with several rooms going on at once. You never know when or where you'll be inspired!
Jane x
Thank you Jane! I have one other space while two that I can share soon. I just need to get them picture ready. Enjoy a pretty sunset for me from your adirondack chairs. I can only imagine how peaceful it is there.
DeleteBeautiful! <3 I love that it's feminine and has a little frilliness, but it's not overboard. It looks very comfortable
ReplyDeleteThank you Ashley.
DeleteHi ! Were did you get the lovely sheers ?? I love the material that you have here !!
DeleteWow Pamela! Just WOW! I could exclaim over each and every item but my favorite thing in the room are your slipcovers. I am in love with them too! What an impact they make in the room. Everything is pulled together to perfection and I'm sure that's because you take such care in how you place each and every item. The hubbies can't seem to understand that at all can they? I don't know about your husband, but mine loves the end result and he knows that he would never be able to create it on his own. He's also grateful that he has such a cherished place to live, as I'm sure yours is also.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing and blessings to you my friend.
Patti
Thank you so much Patricia! You are always so kind.
DeleteYour dining room is beautiful. Pinning. Would love to have you join our link party. We pin each post and pick features each week.
ReplyDeleteThank you Stephanie.
DeleteYour dining room is laid out just like mine. I love your chandelier and those wicker chairs. I love the light paint color, as well.
ReplyDeleteNice job on this makeover! I like the addition of the new chairs + the beach-y vignette in the wooden trough. It all comes together to make a beautiful space.
ReplyDeleteCarol ("Mimi") from Home with Mimi
Thank you so much Carol.
DeleteWhere did you order your slip covers from? They are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThey are a wonderful color and print.I found them over on Overstock.com but the last I check they had sold out.
DeleteMy favorites are the chair covers also. Love the color and everything about them.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes the chairs are the show stopper indeed.
DeleteBeautiful and I love those slipcovered blue chairs. Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteKris
Thank you Kris! Hope you are settling into your new home.
DeleteIf you Google ceiling medallions you can find medallions that have four parts that glue to the ceiling and surround the light fixture. You can paint them. They're pretty nice. I've used them in the past. You can also order embellishments that can attach to the ceiling and surround the light fixture. Bomar embellishments comes to mind. Have fun and good luck. Pretty room and I love the rug the most!!!
ReplyDeleteI will have to do that. I did not think they made such a thing. Thanks!
DeleteHmmmm, my husband wouldn't want to take down a light fixture just to put it right back up again either, lol! I've seen ceiling medallions that come in halves so you can put them up without taking down the light fixture....but for the life of me, I can't remember where I saw them. Look.... they're out there somewhere. I think you can attach them with liquid nails?
ReplyDeleteI am going to keep looking. I think it would certainly help to complete the space.
DeleteI love your slipcovers too. Please, please, please where did you order them from and what is the fabric pattern name.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I ordered them from Overstock.com but the last time I checked they are no longer available. I was wanting to get two more.
DeleteI love your taste in decorating and look forward to your blog each day. I notice you have a dachshund; we do too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Teresa! Aren't weens the best!? We love our girl to pieces.
DeleteBeautiful Pamela!!!....Love everything from the slipcovers to those great sconces. Love how you displayed them on the shutters.
ReplyDeleteThank you Shirley. The sconces I ordered from Decor Steals and are hardwire but I am going to change them over to plug in so I can use them around the house.
DeleteLove the simplicity of your room; the color is so restful and calming; I would love to know where you ordered your slipcovers for your chairs...and your doughbowl is a work of art!!!....
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for visiting! The slipcovers I ordered from Overstock.com but the last I checked they are no longer available.
DeleteI am waiting for the answer on the slip covers also!! Those are exactly what were in my head that I wanted!!!!! Please share!
ReplyDeleteKim check Overstock.com under dining chair slip covers. They were no longer available the last I checked but maybe they got some back in.
DeleteThe dining room looks stunning and it looks like the slip covers were a major hit! Each and every item in the room seems to have been chosen very thoughtfully. The Sherwin Williams paint colour in gray looks great.
