Last week we spent time on the Florida Panhandle. It is something we have done almost every summer for the past 10 years. Last year we staid at home because we put in the pool so this year we were longing to hear the surf and feel the sand between our toes.
|
The white sand... |
|
and crystal clear water can not be beat! |
|
This year we staid down in Panama City Beach. Our normal stomping grounds are Perdido Key. |
|
Though we enjoyed the time with our family and had a few beautiful beach days I have to say PCB is not our beach. We dearly missed Perdido Key. |
|
There were way too many people and sadly the beach in front of the complex we staid at was littered with trash. I will not even tell you about the complex itself. We ended up getting in the car and spending time at a more quiet location. We only had one day where the water was crystal clear. The seaweed was something awful this year. We had never seen it so bad for so many days. |
|
Though the beach was not quite what we were use to we enjoyed our time with The Nana & The Papa. The boys took a helicopter ride with The Papa up and down the beach. They had never flown before and had a blast! Let me tell you this mama was freaking out till they landed. We also raced go carts for the first time. I have to admit that was pretty fun!
The Nana and I agreed that next year we need to find a town home or house on the beach to rent instead of condo living. We enjoy the quiet peacefulness as to oppose all the people so the hunt is on. Do you vacation on the FL panhandle? Where is your favorite place to stay? |
Hope to see you back at 7 p.m. for Treasure Hunt Thursday!
I lived in Fort Walton Beach for 5 years. Loved it. We still have property in Pensacola. I love the water and seafood.
ReplyDeleteI am at Watercolor in Santa Rosa Beach and it is peaceful and gorgeous! Rented a house and it is amazing. You might look online and check it out. Right next to Seaside. We walk and bike everywhere! No high rises!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy looking at beautiful pictures of the beach. I wish you had had a better time, you deserve better. Back to Perdido next year!
ReplyDeleteI vacation in Naples, Florida. It is on the gulf, but as far south on the west coast of Florida you can go. I lived there for years and still have family there. It is a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteLove the beach! Beautiful photos Pam...
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Cindy
It's been a good while since we have gone. We usually stayed around the Destin area, the water is so pretty there. I miss it.
ReplyDeleteOur family favorite place is St. George . You take a long bride to get there. It is so wonderful. It's called the uncommon Florida. Nearby is Appalachcole. Sure the spelling isn't right. The greatest oysters ever. I indulge in the fried ones and they are so good.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful place. Pretty photos, sorry about the crowded beaches tho!
ReplyDeleteThis is where I grew up! Now, I'm down the road a bit in South Alabama, but I still think the area between Destin and Perdido Key has the most beautiful beaches! You are right about the atmosphere being different in Panama City Beach!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a wonderful time!
Gorgeous photos from where you stayed.
ReplyDeleteWe own a place in Destin, Florida at a complex named Seascape. We love it there. For a family vacation, in a home, I must agree with the earlier comment...Watercolor is beautiful in Santa Rosa Beach and Rosemary Beach is also wonderful. Love the sand but hate that seaweed when it arrives.
