Today the boys and I had to go across town to buy some more paint to finish up a project. On the way back we stopped off at one of my favorite antique shops- Spring Antique Mall. They had sooo many goodies today. I was glad that I had my rainy day money on me!
I finally bought a pair of antlers. I was not so sure of the whole decorating with antler thing when it first started. These were a great deal so it was hard to resist. |
I was looking thru bins of old post cards and came across this beautiful one. |
Look at this precious tiny child's bible. For $1.50 I was not leaving it behind. |
It is dated 1952. I wonder where Roselle Williams Crawford is and just how old she is now. |
Here is a mini statue I am going to make over. |
I fell in love with this seascape oil painting too! Everything was at wonderful prices so I just could not help myself. I am going to probably paint the frame. |
The boys did some treasure hunting as well. Oldest found a tiny wooden dog statue. |
Littliest found an old train post card, a mini bible and a rock statue cat. He has a thing for cats. |
See y'all tomorrow for Treasure Hunt Thursday! |
I saw some antlers the other day when out and about. I just don't really know where they fit in at my home. Do you have a place for them? The seascape will take on a whole new life with the frame painted, it's so pretty! And hooray on finding the postcard and learning about the 104 year old mom. That's amazing!

ReplyDeleteWonderful finds! Loved the post card. Roselle Williams Crawford is at least 60 as I was born in 1952.
ReplyDeleteAwesome treasures! I love that old postcard. And the seascape...I'd love to have a painting like that. One of these days we're going to have to go treasure hunting together!!!
ReplyDeleteMy mother loved postcards and I think she must have saved them all. I am now in possession of many of them. I absolutely love the cherub. Looks like you had a very nice day.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Patty
Hi Pamela,
ReplyDeleteWhat fun finds! Love the cherub statue. Your boys are cuties!
Thanks for sharing your treasures with us.
Gina
Cute finds, I like that post card!
ReplyDeleteI read with great interest your note about the 1909 post card you found at your antique shop. My mother-in-law was born August 19, 1909, and went to heaven last Sept. 15, 2012. She lived to see her 103rd birthday and was in relatively good health until very close to the end. We miss her terribly, but will see her again one day! That year triggered a lot of sweet memories for me.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy your site. Keep up the good work!

I've never thought of using antlers either. They looked good though. Wasn't that postcard sweet? To think it is so old. Makes you think of the people who had these things.....and what they were like! Weren't your boys sweet with their finds.....so proud of what they'd got!! Also credit to the one holding up the picture. Well done! Joan
ReplyDeleteIt looks like everybody found some great things, Pamela! That postcard is beautiful.

What GREAT treasures! LOVE that postcard! Life to the full! Melissa @ DaisyMaeBelle
ReplyDeleteYour boys are so darn cute! I love that they seem so receptive to sharing your love of antiquing. One of my favorite things is sharing my love of yard sales and thrift stores with my own daughters. I've been so busy this summer, I haven't had much time to visit my favorite blogs. I've really enjoyed catching up on yours today, Pamela.
