Stumped

Edited 4/6/11- Linking Up To
The Stories Of A to Z Spring Mantel Party

Stumped! Yep that has been me. This is how our mantel and armoire has looked ever since holiday came down. For the first week or two I was okay with it and then I wanted to come up with a fresh new look. That is where my problem came about. For the life of me I could not think up a thing to do to these areas. I hunted high and low for the one piece to spark my creativity which was lost some where. Nothing at HobLob and nothing at HomeGoods. Then one day I remembered that there was something I had been wanting for ever!! I had been pining over it for over a year and so I finally broke down and ordered a set from FarmHousewares since I had a 10% off code.

Can you guess what came today!!??? Yep, I finally ordered a set of herb crates that ya see all over blogland! I was so excited!! It was exactly what I needed to get my creative juices flowing again.

This is what the armoire looked like this morning.

This is what it looks like now! Sorry for the poor lighting. The sun had moved to the side of the house so this was the best I could do.

I had placed the Madam Bust up there last night and The Hubster was like um no that is ugly. I agreed but now that she has company I think she looks right at home.

Just a frame and a birds nest. Ya gotta love ya some nests and empty frames!

I think this display turned out well. I am pondering on what I want to do with the inside of the doors now. They look so bare.

Well since I did the armoire I knew I had to move on to the mantel. This is how it has looked for awhile  Bionical and all. I think he was trying to hit on our Angel but she gave him the boot!;)

This is what the mantel looks like now. It is simply stated I think. I decided to keep the extra mirror there that I had moved in for the holidays. Eventually I am sure it will find its way back to the bathroom.

I love these lil' potted plants. They have moved every where around the house.

Another Song Bird frame that I decided to keep for myself.

And as always our Christmas angel who stays out all year.
I am now more at peace with my surroundings. It is started to feel homey again and not so sterile. I am currently working on the dresser and what not to the side of the fireplace so I will have to share that another day.

Don;t forget about my Paula Deen give away that ends this Friday! Also I finally figured out how to make my button into a real button so I have added those to my sidebar if ya want it!:)
Thanx for stopping by!! I am joining in on the following Linky parties!

  2. Your vignettes look so good! I have been a little stumped here after the holidays, too. A bit weary of my same things but not wanting to go out and buy a bunch of new stuff. And no, I haven't gotten that email, but if I do I'll let you know! If you answer it, tell us what "she" says.
    Cheers, Andrea

  4. Looks good! Maybe some chalk board paint on the inside of the doors? Or a picture frame, might be nice too. Loving the top of the TV cabinet armoire. Blessings <3 Paula

  5. So glad I am not the only one in a decorating funk. Our mantle is in sad shape. I've been everywhere and rearranged things many times to create a new look and....nothing. We are having a shower at my house soon and I have to get things together PRONTO!!!

Haven't received an email as of yet? I would respond with a "why do you need my address"? Kind of off. Let us know.

  6. I love your topiary trio, Pamela! They look like they would fit in well anywhere! I think it looks just right. It's always so hard between Christmas and Spring to know what to decorate with. I was in Home Goods not too long ago, and nothing "grabbed" me.

  7. Pamela, I love the vignette on the armoire. I have those crates, too and love them. I ordered mine from the same place. I am so glad you asked about the lady from Home Goods because I got that today too and wondered if it is a scam. Strange to be asking for our home address. I replied and asked if this if for real and got no response. I hope someone knows for sure if this is real.

    Thanks for joining the party.

  9. That looks absolutely fabulous Pamela! It is fun to add some new things here and there but yet incorporate existing pieces. You really did a great job of mixing things up and I love it! Now, what is that on the far right of the mantel with the little birds nests in it? I've never seen anything quite like it but I love it! Also, did you get my email??? :-)

  11. The bust looks really nice with the new crate, but I really love what you did with the mantel! I like how the smaller mirror grounds and focuses your eye on the mantel, plus those little toparies are very cute!

  13. Love your revamped vignettes! And the herb crate...ver nice. They will probably have a run on them today, wondering why.

What area of Texas? What if we are neighbors?

  15. A fabulous look for your armoire. Love the decorative iron screen as a background for objects of different heights. And oh, the bird's nest is wonderful. You can slide right into spring.

Choose a favorite fabric and gather it to fit the side doors. You can hang on a tiny rods at top and bottom or hot glue. The glue pulls off easily if you should tire of it.
