Our Suburban Farmhouse- The Color Story

Yesterday I shared what stage our house is at with the build process.
Building A Suburban Farmhouse

I mentioned how even though we love the idea of a traditional white farmhouse we opted to go in a different direction. It was a tough decision and one I second guessed after I saw the primer go on the house. In the end though we decided to stick with our original choice.

Here is the color story we chose for our house
Paint Colors for our farmhouse
All the hardiplank and the garage doors will be a greige color called Synchronicity. The shutters will be board & batten/farmhouse style painted in Feldspar. Our front porch and back porch ceilings will also be painted in Feldspar. Our trim work and pillars will be white.

Of course I have been collecting items for the new house. Note this is NOT a sponsored post what so ever! I am just sharing the links to the items I have picked out in case anybody is interested in them as well.

Front Porch-Porch Swing-Luciana Porch Swing-Grandin Road
One of the first things I purchased was the Luciana swing for our front porch. I ordered it from Grandin Road. It was on special plus I had an additional coupon thanx to my pal Susan from Between Naps on The Porch so it was a steal of a deal at less than $200 with shipping! I have always dreamed of having a porch swing and can not wait to hang it up.

Porch Living-Rocking Chair-Nantucket Rocking Chairs-Southern Porch-Grandin Road
I also just ordered two of their Nantucket rocking chairs for the front porch after they sent me an additional 30% off all sale email. I love the rockers because they have a distressed feel to them.

Farmhouse Porch Lighting- Allen + Roth-Castine-Lowes
The closer we get to completion I will start purchasing the exterior lighting. I have picked out Allen + Roth Castine lighting from Lowes. The X design matches the backing of the porch swing as well as the cross buck doors we will have at the back of the house. We will have a cross buck door from the garage and then one for our backdoor. I am just giddy over the thought of those!:) There will be two of these lights on each side of our front door and then one on the front of the garage. There is also a flush mount ceiling fixture in the same line that will be for the breezeway from our garage to the house. I still need to pick out two ceiling fans for the front porch. I have not yet decided if I want them to be just plain fans or if I want them to have lighting as well. If lighting then I will just go with the fans from the same Castine line.

Wait till you see some of the lighting I have stashed away for the interior of the house!:)

  11. Thank you Stacey! Well that is good to hear that you love them! I can not decided if I was to do the smaller ones on the porch and a larger one on the garage or just all large.
