New Treasures & New Projects

Happy Friday all! I am trying my best to fight a cold. There is too much to do to have one but I guess that is just how it goes. The Hubster has one as well and I believe Littliest does too but its hard to tell because his allergies are always bad this time of year.

Today I thought I would share a few treasures I found last week.
I had been hunting high and low for a dough bowl that I could afford. Most are $100 and up. I actually wanted one that was longer but when I saw this one I ran right over to the shop down the street to look at it. It was $45 which in the base case I thought was a good deal but the shop owner said she would give it to me for just $30!:) SOLD! She was honest and said it wasn't vintage but I didn't care because honestly you can not tell.
Next up I saw a lot of boat oars listed on a local site. They were $10 each and 7 of them but I was not spending $70 on boat oars so I just brought these two home.
I think they are pretty cool and they are true vintage. The lady selling them said she thought she listed them too low and I said yeah she probably did!;) I will sit them out once its summer.

Now on to new projects!

The Hubster and I started this project about a month ago. I finally took a moment to get it mostly completed. Does anybody know what this piece is?
It got a quick makeover. In just 45 minutes it was painted and waxed. It is almost ready for its reveal but I need to make something for it first.
That project led to me painting our laundry room cabinets. I am still in the middle of this project but I think it they will be fab once completed.

Some of you may be wondering what is up with the half bath reveal. Honestly it is ready to go minus one thing. The sink. The Hubster refuses to install the new sink till we have the faucet. I am up in arms over the faucet. We went to the big box stores and didn't see anything we liked for the money. Then I decided to look on O.co.
I found this awesome vintage looking faucet. I wanted to buy it right away but even with coupon it is $200. That is more than the sink. I will have to save for this one.
Then I found this one. It is only $118. So decisions decisions. Which one would you choose??
Here is the pic of the sink again to give you an idea.

Have a great weekend all and if you are traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday be safe!

Don't forget that Treasure Hunt Thursday is still going on strong!:)

Treasure Hunt Thursday #82 & Highlights

Welcome to Treasure Hunt Thursday #82! Lots of fabulous links last week. I think I have stopped by to visit everybody but I am currently busy going back thru to make sure.
Here are a few of my top picks from last week!

Gretchen over at New Every Morning shared with us her master bath makeover. It is a show stopper for sure!
Andie over at Divine Theatre shared with us a Craigs List mirror makeover which is divine!
Kristie over at Market Nine Home shared her kitchen makeover which is beyond gorgeous!

Susan over at Uniquely Yours...or Mine made over this exquisite round table. I have never seen a piece more lovely!
As always thank you to all who partied last week! I am so truly honored to have such talent partying at my place! If you were featured please feel free to grab the "I've Been Featured" button!:) I have the newly updated button with html code on my sidebar!

What would be a HUGE help and encourage more comments not just from me but others as well would be for everybody to take off their required verification codes for leaving a comment. This seems to take just a few seconds of time but when you have to do it on 30 or more blogs it takes up a TON of time. Last week most everybody had turned off their Word Verification which made it so much easier for me to stop by everybody's links! Thank you!

READ THE RULES PLEASE!:)
Now on to this weeks party!
As with all parties there are the normal rules. You must link back to From My Front Porch To Yours in your THT POST. Just common courtesy. If ya don't link back ya don't get to party. Only link up to your Treasure Hunt Thursday post and NOT your blog homepage. Please No advertising and PLEASE NO MORE than 3 links from the SAME party goer. Also NO MORE linking up to your own link parties. I am seeing more and more link ups of just people promoting their own linky parties. I know it takes time to go back and make a separate post to join the party but it is just the polite thing to do. If you find your post deleted it is not because I am a meany, I just have to make sure the rules are being followed. You can save some of your posts for the following weeks party! Please only link up new posts and not posts that you linked up the week before.

Also be sure to visit at least the link before you and after you to just say Hi! It makes partying all the more fun and remember if your link has had the most visits you will get featured on Tuesdays! If you are new around here I would love it if ya become a follower!:)

Treasures From The Past Week

My friend Kele and I went to The Nutcracker Market over the weekend. It is local tradition put on by The Houston Ballet. I have been for the last 3 years and it is always so much fun.
This year even though we got there in time for opening it was packed. Normally we have an hour or so before it gets busy to enjoy shopping without all the hustle and bustle.
There is always lots of eye candy. Last year I was able to get more pictures but this year there were just too many people.
I loved this hanging basket lantern light.
Kele and I agreed that this year there were way too many clothing booths and not enough home decor booths. We go mainly for the home decor. With that being said
I managed to find me some new flops.
Those who know me personally know I wear flops all year long. I was not even looking for any but a booth an isle over had plopped a pile of flops down at the register and I spied what they were doing out of the corner of my eye. I ran right over and the booth owner said she was putting them on special because the larger sizes do not sell as well. I wear an 11 in flops which are normally super hard to find so it was my lucky day.
I loved these because they are bright and cheery and the design goes all the around the flop. Flops normally run $40 and up because I buy Yellow Box so $25 for these was a steal in my book. I will probably save them for the spring.
As far as home decor goes I was on the hunt for little things to accessorize with. I found this cute snowy birds nest and tiny hanging basket. You have to be careful and shop smart because this little basket was actually $2 less a few isles over at another booth. We weren't smart!;)
This was my big purchase for the day. I fell head over heals for it instantly and knew I had to bring it home. It was a great price at only $40. I am thinking it will become the centerpiece for my holiday dining display.
All in all it was a great day of shopping and girl time plus I came home with $$!;)

Speaking of treasures, I received some new goods for the shop!
I had ordered this metal clip holder way back in August and it was back ordered. I actually forgot all about it till a box showed up on my porch.

I also received some cute metal frames that had  been back ordered as well.

Head on over to the shop if you have been eyeing anything. I am offering $10 off any order $65 or more. Just enter code Holiday2012 at check out. If you order anything between now and Thursday your order will ship this week. All orders placed between 11/16-11/24 will be shipped out starting on 11/26!:) I am taking a break during the week of Thanksgiving to be with family.
