Mark Your Calendars- 2nd Annual Holiday Mantle Party

It is that time of year again! The stockings will be hung by the chimney with care in anticipation of all the fabulous holiday parties that soon will be here. So  be sure to mark your calendars as not to forget to come on over and share all of your holiday pics.
December 8 will be the day of From My Front Porch To Yours 2nd Annual Holiday Mantle Party.

Last year we had so very much fun stopping by and visiting with everyone like our sweet friend Debbie over at Debbiedoos who shared with us a bit of her rustic mantle doo.
White may be more of your thing and if so then this mantle by Sophia's definitely deserves a Pin!

Or how about this fabulous white and green display done by our friend Heather over the way At The Picket Fence. Heather surely knows how to have fun at a holiday soiree!
No need to worry or fret. There is still plenty of time to get things all set. If you are racking your brain over this years displays and need more inspiration click on over to last years party for a mantle parade.

Treasure Hunt Thursday #80 & Highlights

Happy Halloween all!:) I love this image from a disc I purchased a few years back. I hope that everybody has a fun and safe day.

Though today is a day of fun please remember those who are in need. Take a few minutes of your time to find out how you can help those who have lost so much in Sandy's wake. I donated to The American Red Cross but I am sure there are other relief organizations accepting donations no matter how big or small. Lets band together and help make a difference. They have lost so much.

Wow! I can not believe we are already to THT #80! Thank you for making it such a success. I have visited everybody from last week but am in the process of going back and leaving comments.I think I have been back by to almost everybody. All wonderful link ups!:) Here are a few of my personal favorites.

Holly over at Down To Earth Style always amazes me with her projects and this mantle make over is no exception.

Meeha Meeha shared with us a tutorial on how to create these clever Halloween pear place cards.

Karen from Redoux Interiors blew me away with her CeCe Caldwell chair makeover. I normally am not a fan of painted fabric but this chair has won me over!

Janet from Rosemary-Thyme shared her beautiful fall tabelscape. I love the basket of apples!

As always thank you to all who partied last week! I am so truly honored to have such talent partying at my place! If you were featured please feel free to grab the "I've Been Featured" button!:) I have the newly updated button with html code on my sidebar!

What would be a HUGE help and encourage more comments not just from me but others as well would be for everybody to take off their required verification codes for leaving a comment. This seems to take just a few seconds of time but when you have to do it on 30 or more blogs it takes up a TON of time. Last week most everybody had turned off their Word Verification which made it so much easier for me to stop by everybody's links! Thank you!

READ THE RULES PLEASE!:)
Now on to this weeks party!
As with all parties there are the normal rules. You must link back to From My Front Porch To Yours in your THT POST. Just common courtesy. If ya don't link back ya don't get to party. Only link up to your Treasure Hunt Thursday post and NOT your blog homepage. Please No advertising and PLEASE NO MORE than 3 links from the SAME party goer. Also NO MORE linking up to your own link parties. I am seeing more and more link ups of just people promoting their own linky parties. I know it takes time to go back and make a separate post to join the party but it is just the polite thing to do. If you find your post deleted it is not because I am a meany, I just have to make sure the rules are being followed. You can save some of your posts for the following weeks party! Please only link up new posts and not posts that you linked up the week before.

Also be sure to visit at least the link before you and after you to just say Hi! It makes partying all the more fun and remember if your link has had the most visits you will get featured on Tuesdays! If you are new around here I would love it if ya become a follower!:)

Treasure Hunt Thursday #79 Most Viewed Links

Praying for all those who have been in the path of Sandy! Our hearts go out to you all!

Though the weather has been calm around here we have been super busy getting ready for Halloween and trying to still finish up projects I am working on before Thanksgiving break rolls around. Hard to believe that is just two and half weeks away. Yikes!

Here are the top three most viewed links from last weeks Treasure Hunt Thursday party.

Kristy from Shona Skye Creations has the top spot with her dresser vignette.

Shaggy Sheep Home came in at number two with her vintage treasures.

Number three was Dee from A Lapin Life with her tutorial on how to create a french basket!

Be sure to stop back by tomorrow for Treasure Hunt Thursday #80!

A New Friend & Home Halloween Tour

Last week I received a sweet email from one of my readers, Brenda. Brenda introduced herself telling me that she use to shop out at The Old Oak Cottage when it was open. We had never met but it turns out that she lives in my neighborhood. Brenda invited me over for coffee and to chat. I am happy to call Brenda a new friend! Brenda is the type of lady who you could sit for hours and talk about anything and everything and we did just that!:) We have so much in common to include our passion for anything with a french flare.
Brenda lives in one of the newest sections of our hood and as soon as she told me what floor plan she had I knew she had to have good taste that and she reads my blog so just saying!;) Just joking!:) Anyways, I have drooled over this floor plan for years.

Just look at all the rock and wood shutters! French Country goodness that can not be beat.

Brenda's home welcomes you with fall greetings on the porch.

I love this wire planter basket and how she has it displayed. It is all just a hint of what is to come when you open the door.

In her foyer you are greeted with a beautiful hutch that her hubby made her.

Brenda has such an eye for detail and I have already told her she MUST come and help me at our house. That is after I get rid of all of our dust bunnies and try to put away all of my many many projects!;)

When I first saw this wall shelf I was so enamored with it that I did not even realize it was hung in an art niche. I never know what to  do with those. We have one in our living room and I am still tweaking it 3 years later. Anyways, this shelf was a $5 find that Brenda made over!

This is a small area by her wrap around stair case in the foyer.

She has so many knick knacks.

A little frenchy table going into her dining room.

Brenda's dining room is just gorgeous. I love all the natural light that comes in as well. She made over her builder grade chandy. I will show you more of it in another post.

Brenda is an artisan and use to design pieces for ESC Trading Company. She made this crow canvas that I just adore!

Her beautiful hutch she purchased and is planning on repainting.

I am in love with her two story living room. Do you see what she used in her art niche in here? Reclaimed barn wood! I LOVE it!

Such an eye for detail I tell ya.

I really love this little side table and the basket underneath where she keeps her magazines.

Talk about a dream kitchen!

Brenda made this pumpkin sign last week. I am hoping she will help me make a sign or two in the near future!;)

I loved visiting with Brenda! She is such a super nice lady. She reminds me some of my mama. I meant to get a picture of her but forget so the next time I visit I will snap a pic so y'all can meet her too and not just her house. I am so glad to have met Brenda and look forward to our new friendship. Sadly though she will probably be moving in January but I will surely enjoy her company till then. We are already talking Christmas decor!

Pinterest Loving- Outdoor Fireplaces

A cold front has decided to come our way here in East Texas and we are LOVING every minute of it! It was actually colder here this morning than it was where the Grands live which hardly ever happens. Tonight it is suppose to get down to 41. In honor of the cold weather I decided to share some of my favorite outdoor fireplaces from Pinterest

Maybe one day my dream will come true and we will have a beauty like these in our backyard. Till then I will just live thru the pictures.
Have a great Sunday y'all!
