New Items & A Milk Paint Project

This week I got in a few new goodies for the shop and I just HAD to share this one with y'all!

I am head over heels in LOVE with this sheep family!!  They are perfect for all year round but I can see them in a beautiful Christmas display as well. This set is a fabulous size with the largest sheep measuring out at 11 inches wide x 7.5 inches tall! I have two sets up for grabs but I may just have to keep one for myself.

Other than checking inventory in I started working on the dining set that came with my hutch I redid last month.

I decided to try out some Milk Paint. I liked the thought that I wasn't going to have to mix it myself.

It is a great color in the can.

I lightly sanded the chair down and started painting. I was actually wishing and hoping for some chippy goodness to start happening.

All I got was this after two coats. I have to say thus far I am not a fan at least not of this brand. It seems it would be good for those who use a sprayer. It has a rubbery feel to it and is very hard to sand.
Has anybody else used this brand of milk paint? I have ordered some Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint to try out. I hoping it will be better.

Don't forget about Treasure Hunt Thursday going on!

Treasure Hunt Thursday #73 & Highlights

Welcome to THT #73! We had 88 party goers last week which is amazing. It was so hard to choose who to feature! There is a LOT of fall decorating going on so I could not resist sharing this fall mantle inspiration.
Becca over at Adventures In Decorating has a true knack for decorating her mantle!

Stone Gable shared a fabulous mirror make over with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.

Jusdy shared her amazing NO sew drapes over at DIY by Design.

Imagine walking the beach and actually coming upon an old ship wreck that has been buried for years!! That is just what happened to Linda over at Coastal Charm.

As always thank you to all who partied last week! I am so truly honored to have such talent partying at my place! If you were featured please feel free to grab the "I've Been Featured" button!:) I have the newly updated button with html code on my sidebar!

What would be a HUGE help and encourage more comments not just from me but others as well would be for everybody to take off their required verification codes for leaving a comment. This seems to take just a few seconds of time but when you have to do it on 30 or more blogs it takes up a TON of time. Last week most everybody had turned off their Word Verification which made it so much easier for me to stop by everybody's links! Thank you!

READ THE RULES PLEASE!:)
Now on to this weeks party!
As with all parties there are the normal rules. You must link back to From My Front Porch To Yours in your THT POST. Just common courtesy. If ya don't link back ya don't get to party. Only link up to your Treasure Hunt Thursday post and NOT your blog homepage. Please No advertising and PLEASE NO MORE than 3 links from the SAME party goer. Also NO MORE linking up to your own link parties. I am seeing more and more link ups of just people promoting their own linky parties. I know it takes time to go back and make a separate post to join the party but it is just the polite thing to do. If you find your post deleted it is not because I am a meany, I just have to make sure the rules are being followed. You can save some of your posts for the following weeks party! Please only link up new posts and not posts that you linked up the week before. Also be sure to visit at least the link before you and after you to just say Hi! It makes partying all the more fun! If you are new around here I would love it if ya become a follower!:)

A Day of Friendship

My Monday started off at 5:45 am. If you know me I am NOT a morning person by any means but I am trying to be. Savannah has slept three nights in a row till about 6 am so I have been very thankful for that. I normally just slug around and get the boys ready for school. Today I had a skip in my step because I knew it was going to be a busy day. No time for slouching around today.

Today my friend Kele and I ( note that is not us!;) ) started on our walking goal for the month. We want to walk at least 40 miles a month. If we continue on like we did today we will log over 55 I think she said. That is only walking three days a week! I think we walked 5 miles in an hour which I think was pretty good.

After walking I quickly got ready and met up with my friend Janese for whom I had met out at the cottage when I helped out there.
We walked around HomeGoods and saw lots of eye candy like this bird cloche! It was $30 and I didn't need one so it staid. I am sure it will find a loving home quickly though.
These silver ones I think would be pretty during the holidays. They were only $12.99 each.
I saw these beautiful white sheets in queen size. I did not need them though I was tempted at the $29.99 price.
I LOVED this old world map bulletin board. It was $49.99 and nice and heavy. A good deal I thought for something so large. If hubby had not just gotten a Masters Golf picture for the office this would probably have jumped in my cart.
I also fell head over heels for this beyond amazing clock. It was HUGE and just $49.99. I really really wanted it but kept reminding myself about Round Top.
After HomeGoods we had lunch at Panera and I had the yummiest Caesar salad ever!! Can y'all believe I had never been to Panera before!? I enjoyed it so much I am meeting another friend there for lunch on Friday.

So even though I am plum wore out today has been a very good day. I am thankful for all of my friendships!

Window Shopping

With the garage cleaned up I am now on a mission to get some of my projects completed that are out there. To do that though involved a trip to the local antique shop. I knew it would be tempting to shop because who could resist but my friend Kele and I will be heading to Round Top in a few weeks so I knew I could only window shop.
Meet Claudine! She will be our guide today!;) She was quite amusing to say the least.
Her space was full of romantic beauty.
I loved this chest.
Littliest said I needed this cabinet to keep all my paint supplies in. I agree! It is fabulous.
Some antique bread boards.
This is a beautiful table but I think it may sit there awhile due to its size. Can you imagine how large of a dining room you would have to have to fit this piece!?
I thought this bed was beautiful.
A conversation piece.
A nice pop of color.
I fell head over heels for this china!! I so wanted to bring at least a few pieces home. They would have been perfect for decorating the dining room for fall. The pricing was a tad confusing though. One of pieces said 78 pieces with the number $109 which was an awesome deal but still more than I wanted to spend and more pieces than I needed. Then another sticker said 78 pieces for $399. I was confused and wish it was sold by the piece so it all stayed behind. I might try and see if I can find some on Ebay. The seller said they were imported from England. I should have taken a pic of the pattern on the bottom.
I am not usually a bright colored fan on pieces like this but this piece was gorgeous!!
This was a another piece I just loved. Super cute indeed. I wish I could figure out how to do transfers like that.
A great roo picture.
This space was full of shabby goodness and if I wasn't saving I could have brought home a few things for sure from this space.
I loved this little stool. I am looking for one for in the half bath to hold a basket. I kept telling myself that I would find something even better at Round Top.

I was amazed that almost every space was full at the antique shop. Back in the spring it was so empty. If it was not 45 minutes away from our house I would look into renting a space here.

Anyways, the hunt for paint was fruitless pretty much. All the colors I needed were sold out. I did purchase a can of milk paint to play with though. I have  never used it before and so I was intrigued. I will share my thoughts on it once I get further along with the piece I am using it on.

Don't forget to check out Treasure Hunt Thursday! We are only 12 away from reaching 100 party goers!! It will be a first. Also if you are in the mood to shop I just recently put a lot of items on special in my shop Finch & Co. Designs as a thank you for the support! New goodies are on the way! Ol' Bessie is sold out once again so I will be placing another order for her soon. If you are interested in pre ordering one let me know.

Hope your weekend is going well!
