Just Giddy!

Between Yesterday and this morning I have been having awesome luck!
The boys and I went to HomeGoods yesterday after school and I was able to purchase a few of these damask print curtain panels. They have had them for the past few weeks and I looked at them every time I went in there. I just could not decide if I wanted them or not but yesterday since there were only a few left they had to come home with us. I have an idea in my head on what I want to do with them but you will have to just wait!;)

Then I was thrilled when we went down the linen isle and saw these french tea towel sets! I just loved them to pieces and actually purchased several of each.

Though both of those finds were great this mornings find beats them out by a land slide!! I have been trying to hunt down my next piece to refinish. I am VERY picky on what I purchase and also sometimes I am not quick enough to get pieces before others in the area get to them but this morning I was first in line! I am beyond giddy over this purchase!

Just look at this french desk!! I made the boys get dressed as fast as they could because the fella said he would not hold it for me for very long. You have never seen a gal slap on some clothes and make up so fast!

It even has a drawer! Now for whatever reason the seller wiped it down with some stain before hand. I know this because it was still VERY VERY tacky. When ya touch it the stain gets on your hands. I am hoping he decided to do that this morning before listing it and that it will dry soon. If not it will make my job of making it beautiful more complicated. I hate it when stain stays tacky!
Well worth the rush though. I was wanting to wait till after lunch to go and get it because I had a bloggy pal coming by to purchase something from me and thus I was  going to use that cash to buy the desk. Well instead I had to get a loan from Oldest!;) Thankfully he loves his mama and remembers that I float him cash from time to time so it all worked out.

So what are you up to this weekend?
Don't forget Treasure Hunt Thursday is still going on! Be sure to join in on the fun and link up your treasures or projects!

Boredom

Hubster is busy at work with turnaround and thus it has left him working on the weekends. The boys and I were bored so we hopped in the car a few weekends back and headed here. Its about a 45 minute drive depending on traffic so we really don't go too often. Maybe twice a year.

I love just walking around and getting new ideas. They have a lot of new products out.I loved this chocolate brown sofa but it doesn't go with our living room.

We found this awesome cabinet for the boys Legos. They are now past the stage of building and taking apart right away so we need something for them to display their creations. Ikea has a yellow one as well which would go better with their room. Since The Hubster was not with us it staid behind. Way to heavy for me to get in the car by myself.

Loved this new wall light they have. I was going to get it for the boys but they were not interested in it.

The boys were very well behaved because they knew I had promised them some of these.

Littliest and I shared some chicken strips which were the best we had ever had!

Ikea has a new line of blue and white out which includes floral and toile patterns. I just loved it but again it does not go with our current decor.

I saw this line of aprons and dish towels. I loved them as well but had to tell myself to leave them behind since I really didn't need any of them. Great prices though!

On a pink note Ikea has some fabulous new bedding.

All the pink was just divine and if I had a little girl she would have gotten a bedroom makeover!;) If you like Cath Kidston then you will like a lot of this line. I believe I had read somewhere that she actually designed some things for Ikea.

These little lights were pretty cool.

I have been admiring these little side tables/bench for awhile now but again no where to use them so they staid behind.

On the way out I spotted this fabulous little lamp. I was hoping they were just selling the shade but alas they were not. I took a pic because it looked simple enough to make.

We never bring much home from our Ikea trips but it is always a fun way to spend a few hours of our day. It is a great place to get some really great items at reasonable prices to sue thru out your home. The lace curtains in our guest bedroom came from here. I am sure anybody can find at least one thing here that would work in their home in some way. If we end up moving overseas and storing all of our furniture I can see many a trip to Ikea to furnish our new digs.

Treasure Hunt Thursday #50 & Highlights

Welcome to THT #50!! I can't believe we are up to 50 already! Thank you to all who come to party at my place every week. It is always so much fun and I am truly honored that you choose to party with me. Sorry this week I am running a tad behind. I was out in the yard planting flowers and then doing homework and one thing led to another. You know how it goes. On too some fabulous highlights.

All Things Beautiful made this wonderful art piece from an old window!

I just LOVE Comforts of Home redone frenchy settee! Penny even shows ya how she accomplished this daunting task so head on over.

The North End Loft made some fabulous Easter decoupage eggs and gives us a tutorial! There is still time to make a few for yourself.

As always thank you to all who partied last week! I am so truly honored to have such talent partying at my place! If you were featured please feel free to grab the "I've Been Featured" button!:) I have the newly updated button with html code on my sidebar!  Though I was unable to leave a comment on every persons blog please know that I did stop by and visit!! I appreciate everybody taking the time to come over every week! What would be a HUGE help and encourage more comments not just from me but others as well would be for everybody to take off their required verification codes for leaving a comment. This seems to take just a few seconds of time but when you have to do it on 30 or more blogs it takes up a TON of time.

Now on to this weeks party!
As with all parties there are the normal rules. You must link back to From My Front Porch To Yours in your THT POST. Just common courtesy. If ya don't link back ya don't get to party. Only link up to your Treasure Hunt Thursday post and NOT your blog homepage. Please No advertising and PLEASE NO MORE than 3 links from the SAME party goer. If you find your post deleted it is not because I am a meany, I just have to make sure the rules are being followed. You can save some of your posts for the following weeks party! Please only link up new posts and not posts that you linked up the week before. Also be sure to visit at least the link before you and after you to just say Hi! It makes partying all the more fun! If you are new around here I would love it if ya become a follower!:)

Treasures For The Week

Sorry I have not posted anything interesting this past week. My mom came into town to celebrate Oldest's 8th birthday. We had a grand time and did a lot of shopping. I thought you might like to see the treasures I found.
First I have to say that this here little boy and his brother are one of my most prized treasures! They make me soooo very proud! Him and his brother are huge animal lovers and well instead of presents all Oldest wanted for his birthday was money to donate to help dogs in shelters. He said he had enough toys and that it was more important to help those animals who did not have homes yet. Talk about a tear jerker y'all!
Well his Nana & Papa came in a few weeks ago to celebrate his bday early during their Spring Break and they gave him and Littliest some money. They were told they could do whatever they wanted with it and they both opted to donate it with out hesitation so off to PetSmart we went during Adoption Days. Between the two of them they donated  $100!! I was one proud mama! Now mind you Littliest tried to reason with me by saying that it would be better to just bring one of the kitties home with us but he did not win that discussion!;) We already have two furry children. One from the local SPCA and the other who we adopted during Adoption Days at PetSmart years ago. I explained that that was plenty for now.

Now on to shopping with my mama which I LOVED and wish I could do more of. We only see each other twice a year so I enjoy all the time I get to spend with her.

We went to Ellen's Timeless Treasures and I purchased this fabulous tea set for just $20! It needs to be shined up but at $20 I thought it was a steal.

One of my mama's favorite stores to visit is Thad's in Old Town Spring. This visit I found this awesome miniature cement lion. I have always wanted larger ones to sit at our fence entrance like my mama has so when I saw this one and its mate I had to have them.

We also went to The Antique Gallery and I found this darling little mirror for just $5. There were not too many deals to be had this time around there and a lot more booths were vacant then my previous visit. Not sure if it had something to do with everybody getting ready for Round Top or not.

I did find this beyond fabulous miniature federal convex mirror!! I snatched it up without hesitation when I saw it. For just $10 it was a steal. I came home to research it and it goes for over $40 on Ebay. I also researched its copyright date because I was thinking about adding some gold to it. Well turns out it is from 1945 so it will be staying the way that it is.

So there ya have my treasures for the week. Now I just have to figure out where to put them all. Don't forget to come back later this evening for Treasure Hunt Thursday!
