Long Weekend

So what do you have planned for this long holiday weekend? I need to return something to Pottery Barn, go to The Antique Gallery to buy some more Old White, remove all the office stuff out of the guest bedroom, purchase a new toilet seat for the guest bath, have The Hubster fix the guest bath toilet that seems to keep running from time to time, finish  laundry, work on the armoire, and well I could go on and on but I will spare ya!:)

Right now I am playing with this!!

Hope ya have a grand one y'all!

Not really....

I shared this transfer project with y'all a few days back. I was super excited because well I honestly did not think it would work. Well it turned out pretty  good and I was impressed but yes if you look real closely you can still see the outline of the paper. I had some ladies ask me abt that but truthfully you have to look really hard and since the back ground is light colored it really is a non issue at least for me anyways.

With the success of my caddy I decided it was the perfect way to add something more to my new armoire that I am trying to get finished up. Yes, the one I have been working on for almost a month now in our foyer!:) I purchased these awesome vintage number graphics off of Etsy. I played with them for probably an hour and half getting the background color and sizing right. I figured since I was going to be placing them on top of Chateau Grey and not a light background I needed to make the background of the image match.

I was getting super excited and thought about only doing one drawer at a time but then I figured I would save time and do them all at once since this technique worked so well on the caddy. I was getting super excited! I just knew this was going to add that something special to the armoire that I was looking for.

Yeah, well you see how well that turned out!:( So take it from me I would only do this technique on something small and on something with a light colored background. To be honest I am not even sure I will be attempting this again.
So now it leaves me with having to mix up some more chalk paint to match and trying to figure out just how in the world I will be getting the number graphics on the front of these drawers because I just HAVE to have them on there and they are so intricate that I just do not think hand painting is an option. I have tried hunting down a Splendid Blender pen like Rosemary from over at Villabarnes uses on all of her projects but NOBODY around here has them and I am hesitant to order them off the computer because the only ones I have found do not look like hers. Sigh, so if you know where I can get my hands on a few of those pens please let me know!
Just wanted to make sure I updated y'all on this technique! I would hate for any of you to go thru what I did!

Also don;t forget about Treasure Hunt Thursday happening right now! We would love to have ya join the party!

Treasure Hunt Thursday #21

Welcome to Treasure Hunt Thursday! Hope your week has been grand thus far! We have been busy with school and work but I have managed to find a few goodies.

I was lucky enough to be the first to respond to this treasure. Well it does not look like a treasure right now but trust me it soon will! Even better is that it was in our neighborhood so I did not have to go far to get it which was a good thing because I did not realize how large it was and had to drive home with the lift gate up!:0 Better yet it was only $25!! Can I get a WhooHoo!? By the way I am so not a WhooHoo girl in person!:)

Then I found this Better Homes & Gardens clock at HomeGoods. It was $12.99 and probably not much less than I would have paid for it at WalMart but I loved that it was carved wood and I am thinking once I add some glaze to it it will really pop!

Okay, your turn now!!

As with all parties there are the normal rules. You must link back to From My Front Porch To Yours. Just common courtesy. Only link up to your Treasure Hunt Thursday post and NOT your blog homepage. Please no advertising. Also be sure to visit at least the link before you and after you to just say Hi! It makes partying all the more fun!

Treasure Hunt Thursday #20 Highlights!!

Happy Wednesday y'all! Hope everybody is doing well! Another great turn out last week! Again I thank all of you for coming to party with  me every week! It is so much fun to Treasure Hunt with everybody else!:)

I just love this neat project by Lauren over at My Wonderfully Made! She used vintage seed pack images and printed them on top of book pages! Love it!

Teresa over at Our Southern Country Home & Farm gets me every time! We have very similar styles but I must say she always scores the best things! I am in love with her cow oil prints!! I may have to stow away the next time she goes to market.

Then there is Maureen's huge transformation of her counter tops! She is one brave woman and you must head over to Realease Me Create and see how she created faux granite counter tops!

Have a wonderful day and I hope to see ya back here this evening!
P.s Still working on that Featured button but I promise it is coming!

Tea Time

Last week was my first week working over at The Old Oak Cottage. I am so glad that I had something to take my mind off the boys being at school all day. I think I would have gone mad. Right now I go in on Wed and we freshen things up. This past week we were able to freshen up two rooms in the cottage.  Today I am going to share one of those rooms.

Welcome! Won't you join me for some tea!? We brought the rug in from storage and moved the table  in from another room.I just love the pink toile pillows!

Yes, the table is a tad busy but remember it is a display to sell and not necessarily function!:)

I love this iron tiered center piece! The desserts on top where in the cutest little cloches but somebody purchased them before I could get a pic. A good problem to have!

The cottage has all differrnt kinds of tea pots.

Doesn't this antique chandy just scream "Take Me Home"!?

Yep, I am enjoying work!
