Ready for the ball!

Meet Lucille! I purchased her a few months back. When I saw Lucille I knew she would be my first large piece to  pertty up and try to sell.

Well here is Lucille all ready for the ball! I just love how she turned out if I do say so myself!;)

I had a heck of a time with the handles. I was so excited at the over all physical condition she was in and the fact that she had ALL of her original hardware that I did not bother to see how the handles came off. Well they don't! They are glued on or something and not just screwed on. That left me to having to take a small paint brush and paint around the handles. 

 Lucille would easily become mine if I had a spot in my house! That is the problem with only painting pieces that I myself would want. Hopefully she will find a great home with somebody who will love her just as much as I do!

Lucille will be heading out to The Old Oak Cottage for their Christmas Open House next week! I can't wait! If ya live in the area be sure to come on by! Open House will be Nov 4-5 with a preview party on Nov 3! Let me know if ya need anymore details!

    I wish I lived near you, Pamela! I'd buy Lucille. I am looking for a dresser for our master and the blue you used goes with the blue I have in the master bedroom.

    Lucille looks Fabulous Pamela! Love your color choices. That stinks about the handles not coming off...but you did great painting them.

    I never heard anything about the white pumpkin carriage at the Old oak cottage. Do you know if it's still there?

    Lucille turned out quite lovely! I bet she sell's so quick, your head will spin. I totally understand the wanting to keep everything, and buying to suit your own taste, lol. I am having that same problem. The way I see it is, if it doesn't sell, and I am stuck with it, it will fit in with my decor, lol.

    Lucille is a stunner!
    Lovely job -- and I HATE that old hardware that won't come off. My front door knocker is like that --I wanted the painter to take it off this summer so I could either replace or at least polish it ... and he explained that taking it off would involve cutting open the door itself!

    You did an excellent job on Lucille. Let us know what her fate is!

    Visiting from Miss Mustard Seed...very cute dresser, but the handles don't come off? Oh man, I don't think I ever seen that. It sucks that you had to break out the small brush. Yet, it was worth it. This is fabulous.

      Tanya I honestly do not remember. It was so long ago. Similar coloring would be Annie Sloan Duck Egg and Old White. That may have been what I used but i am just not sure. Thank you for stopping by the blog!
