Model Home Tour with a French Farmhouse Flare

Today I am sharing with y'all the last house I toured over the weekend. The first two houses were much larger at over 4,500 sq ft.

This single story house I believe was 2,900 sq ft. I wanted to hop out and look at it because I had a feeling it was full of the  upgraded features that I was expecting in the larger homes and the price point. This home use to be the builders model home.

I liked the roof line over the garage door. I have actually thought about adding something similar to ours if we could get it approved by the HOA. The garage door is the same color as the house but because this house has a much smaller blueprint I think it works.

Corbels are always a plus in my book!

As I thought this house did not disappoint!

It only reaffirmed that I need to find brick veneer to add to our home like we have always wanted to do.

Open concept kitchen with beautiful brick back splash and what looked like a bamboo island top. Again I think they missed the boat on the island. They went all out with gorgeous finishing touches and then nothing around the island. It could be so much more!

Beautiful fireplace and built in. I am not a huge fan of built in bookcases for myself. I always have a hard time styling them. I would have had to figure out what to do it. Plus the space was small as it was. I would not want to be even more constricted on where to place my furniture.

This was the dining room/breakfast nook area with a shiplap feature wall.

Of course I just loved the tile flooring in the master bathroom. It is a true show stopper.

I also really liked the little windows above the mirror.

Raise your hand if you have always wanted a huge master closet?

This master closet is what closet dreams are made of! It connects to the laundry room which I really liked.

Lastly it had a very nice sized covered back porch and a beautiful fire pit area. The homes backs up to a main roadway in the community but I love the brick wall. There is not much I would have changed about this beautiful home. One thing I wish all builders in our area would just go ahead and do is to install is french drains when they are completing the landscape phase. This backyard was incredibly soggy as most yards are here in our area. We have not owned a single home that has not needed a french drain or two.

So there you have it. After we drove thru that neighborhood we stopped off at the nursery and picked up some new plants for the front flower beds. Even though it was hot as all get out I managed to get them installed. As soon as I get a bag of fresh mulch I will be sharing.
