Master Bathroom Makeover Update- Cabinet Install

Master Bathroom Makeover-Vinatge Cabinet-From My Front Porch To Yours
When I saw this cabinet I knew it was going to be the perfect piece for our master bathroom makeover. It just needed a little updating for it to work in our space.

The original coloring was a cream. I updated it with a white finish along with Paris Gray washed sides.

I highlighted the window panes with Paris gray.

Next up was the biggest change. I gave the door a faux vintage mirror look with Looking Glass spray paint and gold spray paint. You can purchase the looking glass paint at any craft store. I lucked up on a can when I was at Walmart. I did a tutorial a few years ago on the technique I used. You can read all about it in here.

The faux finish turned out just perfect! I was more rough with patting the vinegar off because I wanted it to look a bit more worn. Ignore all the blankets in the background. Real life was happening. LOL.

As you can see by my assistant in the background nobody will be able to see what is inside the cabinet now. It's sole purpose is to try and keep Mr. Front Porch from piling up his stuff on the counter. I figured the cabinet would be the perfect deterrent.

Here is a quick pic I took before we installed the cabinet. The lights are up and the new cabinet hardware along with mirrors. I will share close ups of the new hardware in the reveal post.

We had to build a base for the cabinet to sit on since we have the Silestone water ledge. It was either build a base or remove the ledge so that the cabinet could sit flush to the wall. We didn't feel like removing the ledge. We like having the water ledge.

We cut out an opening for the outlet so Mr. Front Porch can plug in his phones and what not. We also added trim work to the base to dress things up a bit.

The cabinet is 100% completed and I am in love. I need to do some touch up paint on the walls and try to find the perfect time of day to take reveal pics. So far I have not been able to capture great pics and it is irritating me to no end. I am determined though. I am planning to do the reveal on  Monday so be sure to stop back by!

  3. I love this. Really creative by cutting off the legs and using it on the counter.

    1. Thanks Vicki. The legs actually screw off so I have them saved in case we ever decide to take the cabinet down. It is only secured to the wall by screws into the stud.

  6. You did a beautiful job. It looks so elegant on the bathroom counter top. Especially like your darling assistant! Is it a Doxie? Love those dogs. We've had 4 and still miss them.

    1. Hi Bev. Thanks for stopping by for a visit and your sweet comments. Yes, our Savannah is a Doxie. She was suppose to be a mini but ends up she is a tweenie. We just love her to pieces! I can understand missing your fur babies. Savannah had an older brother and sister that we lost about three years ago within 6 months of each other. They were our first fur babies and I still miss them dearly. They were kitties.
