French Country Farmhouse Thru The Years- Laundry Room & Half Bath

It has been a week and half since we bid farewell to our old home. It seems like it has been so much longer! The boys are now registered at their new schools and we have settled into the rental if you can really call living amongst boxes settled!;) School starts on the 22nd so now all we have to do is wait for the new house to be completed. There has been quite a bit of action in the last week that I shared here, here and here

Laundry Room Makeover- French Farmhouse
As to not bore y'all with just new house stuff I thought that I would continue to share Before & After pics of our beloved previous home. In case you missed the first post you can see it here.
Laundry Room Before FrencH Farmhouse Makeover
This is the laundry room before we closed. I had them move the cabinets to the opposite end of the wall. I did not like having them right in your face as you walked into the laundry room. It made the space feel very tight.
Laundry Room-Sevlte Sage-Sherwin Williams
Not too long after we moved in I painted it Sevlte Sage by Sherwin Williams.

It staid Sevlte Sage for a number of years till I made it over yet again. We took down the fluorescent lighting and moved the old dining room chandelier in here. I have to tell you thru the selling process it has been quite fun watching the reactions of the men who have been in our laundry room when they saw the chandelier in there. Our builder even looked at me like I was crazy when I told him not to place a fluorescent in the new laundry because I was going to hang a chandelier.

Even though I dread the task of laundry I really loved this room. It made me smile when I would go in there.
Makeover-half-bathroom
I do not have a before pic of our half bath when we moved in. Just picture a blank slate. The walls were a camel color  so I just painted a blue feature wall.
before-half bath-scalloped sink
I absolutely could not stand this sink from day one! I can not tell you how many times the boys hurt themselves on the points when they were little. It was just awful.
Half Bathroom Before Makeover
I had changed out the builder grade light fixture to a Tuscan styled one.

Eventually I ditched the darker colors in our home and went french farmhouse. The walls were painted Sherwin Williams Antique White. I made custom shelving for the wall.

I changed out the light fixture yet again. I used an antique mirror which I replaced with a look alike when we moved. I was not leaving my antique mirror behind. I bought a mirror from Kirklands then painted it gold. I made the swap before the listing pictures were taken and before we had lookers. The antique one is now waiting to go in the new house.

We changed out the dreaded pointy shell sink and faucet as well. I LOVE this sink and faucet! The plan is to replicate it in our upstairs bathroom at the new house. I know, I know I should probably do something new and exciting but I love them that much and they go perfectly with the flooring I picked out. Since the half bath mini reno was completed I think three years ago I was afraid I would not be able to find the faucet again but I located it and it is sitting in my shopping cart!:)

  4. Hey Pam! I could look at your old laundry room all day! I love everything you did to it. I have a very similar shell sink in my half bath though I don't think it's nearly as pointy as yours was. I have to look at it now. LOL! Great post, glad the new house is progressing. So exciting!

  10. I love the chest in the laundry room. I had a similar one that was my great-grandparents' chest. My daughter wanted it, so I passed it on to her when her daughter was born.
