Our Suburban Farmhouse- Catching Up

I originally wanted to share each step of our build process but with closing on our previous home and moving things got away from me so today I am sharing where we are to date on our suburban farmhouse.
Building a suburban farmhouse

This is actually where we have been at for the past two weeks now due to a few inspection issues that needed to be taken care of. We were fortunate enough to find a rental home that is literally steps away from our build so we get to check in on it every day so when things just seem to stop we get a little annoyed. It all goes hand in hand with building from the ground up though. Things do not get done when you think they should or they are completed incorrectly when it could have been completed correctly the first time. With building you have to have a TON of patience.

I have to tell you the house is not going to be the traditional white farmhouse that I love so much and know you do too. The current color is just primer. We debated and debated on whether or not to go with white but in the end we opted to go against the grain. I will be sharing the color we did choose in tomorrows post!:)
Farmhouse kitchen from scratch
Picture a traditional farmhouse kitchen with shaker cabinets,a double oven, farmhouse sink and many other items that just scream farmhouse goodness.

Today the insulation was installed and Sheetrock dropped off. Tomorrow the rest of the electrical is suppose to be completed and then Sheetrock starting next week if all goes well.

I am dreaming of the fall when we get to sit back here and spend hours upon hours enjoying our new home.

Be sure to check out Our Color Story Selection and a few other goodies I have ordered for the house.
